The Borderland Music & Arts Festival™ unveiled the line-up for its September 21st and 22nd festival at Knox Farm State Park featuring over 20 bands on three stages with a diverse mix of national and regional Americana and roots artists. 

2019 will host Gov’t Mule, Greensky Bluegrass, Shakey Graves, Mavis Staples, The Wood Brothers, The Infamous Stringdusters, a very special, first time collaboration with Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass featuring the legendary Oteil Burbridge, along with The Infamous Stringdusters. Oteil will be returning to Buffalo after his debut performance with Oteil and Friends in 2018 at the inaugural Borderland. 

Other national acts include Rayland Baxter, The Sheepdogs, The Felice Brothers and Ghost Light.  

Also joining the 2019 line up are local and regional artists, Floodwood featuring Vinnie Amico of Moe. and Rochester artist, Mikaela Davis who recently performed with Bob Weir and Wolf Bros. in Buffalo this past March.

Up and coming bands, Liz Cooper and the Stampede, Grant Farm and Booty and the Kidd as well as 8 local bands will also be performing at the Buffalo festival. 

The Borderland Festival celebrates the rich artisan history and renaissance of the Buffalo Niagara region.  The festival will showcase the burgeoning New York State craft industry and feature craft beers, cider, and distilled spirits.  Additionally, the historic stables at Knox will be converted to “Artisan Alley” where fans can engage with some of the most talented artists in the region. Local artists and craftsmen will offer hands-on exhibitions to provide festival attendees with a truly immersive experience.

Jennifer Brazill, Borderland Co-Founder, states “We are beyond thrilled to announce this line-up for our second year of the Borderland Festival. We worked very hard to curate a festival that would compliment the park’s beautiful spirit with not only their music but also their vibe as well as will have a strong focus to sustainability and community.  We are very excited to introduce new bands to the music fans of the region and celebrate the already rich music tradition of Buffalo”.

The festival places a strong emphasis to sustainability with a designated Green Team focused on composting, recycling and waste diversion. No plastic water bottles will be sold on site and free water stations will be available for fans to re-fill reusable containers.  Commemorative stainless steel festival mugs will be for sale and fans receive $1 off beer all weekend when using the mug. 

Tickets for the festival will go on sale on Friday, April 5th at 10 am EST at www.borderlandfestival.com.  Tier 1 pricing starts at $110 for the 2-day General Admission ticket.  The 2-day VIP ticket will be $249 and the 3-day VIP ticket at $299. VIP tickets include free parking, prime viewing for both stages, a private bar, and private restrooms. Free admission for children 10 and under when accompanied by a paying adult. 

A portion of the proceeds from the festival will be donated to Knox Farm State Park, as well as the Headcount, Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper, and the West Falls Center for the Arts.

The third annual Borderland Music + Arts Festival is returning September 19th-20th, 2020 to Knox Farm State Park.  The Borderland Music and Arts Festival celebrates the rich artisan history and renaissance of the region at one of its most scenic venues.

Borderland will, again, feature more than 20 bands throughout the two-day festival, with national and regional Americana, country, bluegrass and roots artists on 3 stages. Additionally, New York State craft beverages, artisan vendors, and a ‘maker’s fair’ with hands-on exhibitions from local craftsmen will provide festival attendees with an immersive experience. Jennifer Brazill, Borderland Co-Founder, states “We are so humbled by the love and support we have received from the Buffalo region.  The Borderland team is looking forward to raising the bar in our third year to continue to grow this festival with our fans and community.”

A limited number of two-day General Admission “Holiday Pre-Sale” tickets will go on sale Friday, December 20th at 9am EST starting at $109 including a commemorative 2019 Borderland Festival poster. The promoters of Borderland Music + Arts Festival have teamed up with Holiday Valley Resort to bring you the Rail Rider Jamboree for the 2nd year. The event will take place March 18th, 2023 at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville, New York. Dark Star Orchestra will headline the event with Buffalo local legend from the band Aqueous, Mike Ganzter & Friends along with the up and coming band, Eggy Also performing will be local bands, Grub from Buffalo and the New Orleans style marching band, Brass Machine will also perform at the Jamboree.

The Rail Rider Jamboree is a weekend filled with music, skiing, snowboarding competitions, brews and so much more; The definition of a Jamboree is "a large celebration or party, typically a lavish and boisterous one" and that is what the Rail Rider Jamboree is planning for all attendees.  The Jamboree is outdoors with music starting around 1pm on Saturday with doors opening at 12pm and will take place at Holiday Valley Resort, in the field on Rt. 219 across from the SnowPine chair.

Rail Rider Jamboree will kick off the weekend on Friday, March 17th at Holiday Valley with rail jam contests and live music, slopeside at the base of the mountain at the Rail Park. Free music will the funk improv band from Buffalo, NY, will perform a free show at  the Holiday Valley Cabana Bar, 8pm-10pm.

“I produced winter festivals on the west coast for 8 years, so it's great to be able to bring this together at Holiday Valley in my backyard.'' says Ginger Root Productions and Borderland Festival owner, Jennifer Brazill. “I am really excited about merging music and mountains and curating a 1 day, boutique event....it's always such a good time”.
