Opiuo and Ashez have joined forces to create a transformative four-track EP, ‘Underground,’ set to captivate electronic music enthusiasts worldwide on June 21st. This EP is a testament to their profound artistry in the bass realm, with each track contributing to a sophisticated yet dynamic masterpiece.

Opiuo shared his excitement: “Me and Ashez have been very close for years now. We met via our good friend Clozee (I heard his music while staying at her house one time) and I was instantly like, ‘Who is THIS?!’ I played a couple of his songs in my set (I rarely play anyone but my own) and instantly wanted to connect and collaborate. After some internet sessions, we met in real life, and the creativity just flowed seamlessly. I’m so proud of this music. It’s more moody and a little darker, but that’s what a good collaboration should be—a bit of both of you mashed into something fresh and new. I’m so happy to finally share this music with everyone! There’s nothing more beautiful and rewarding than writing music with friends!”

About the EP: The EP kicks off with the lead single ‘Underground,’ a track that begins with a mystical melody, gradually building into captivating leads before transitioning into intricate bass drops. The track’s climax, marked by the vocal phrase "this is the wave of the underground," features a dynamic shift into an intricate call-and-response segment, gripping listeners with pulsating bass hits.

Ashez expressed his enthusiasm: “Oscar and I became friends after he found my music and reached out. I was stoked as I had been a fan for years, and now I’m even more stoked to announce the release of our EP. We realized pretty quickly we worked extremely well as a team, and our first single release, ‘Bash Plate,’ received so much hype and support. Oscar invited me to stay at his place for a week in Byron before a festival we were both playing at, and we started a few different projects, slowly adding and adjusting them ever since. I’m so excited to release this EP, as both Oscar and I have been playing these tracks out for ages now. It’s always awesome working with your mates, and we think this EP is a great representation of both of us and our sounds.”

Following ‘Underground,’ the EP continues with ‘Bobby Dazzler,’ a groove dance anthem featuring a lively four-on-the-floor drum pattern, clever motifs, and rhythmic bass hits. ‘Ricochet’ injects a dynamic, cryptic bass into the project, while the closing track ‘My Love’ instills a beloved, sentimental aura and a trance of exploration.

In essence, this EP delivers a fresh bass experience, showcasing new realms of creativity through the collaboration of Opiuo and Ashez. Together, they elevate live bass to new heights, offering listeners exciting sonic adventures.

Visionary of innovative Chinese soundscapes, Saka, is set to release his six-track EP "Monomyth" on Of The Trees' label Memory Palace on July 5th. The Hong Kong native has crafted a collection of tracks that illustrate the hero’s journey, capturing the essence of adventure, triumph in decisive moments, and the transformative character evolution.

"This EP is a musical journey crafted in the timeless pattern of a hero's quest—the "Monomyth". In "Soul Ties, "we witness the tragic demise of our hero, consumed by darkness, he transforms into a version of his former self—a "Ghoul". Yet, through the haunting melodies of "Ifrit" and "Shenlong," he begins his ascent from the darkness, ultimately conquering these two demons. "Ichiban" heralds a moment of pride before the inevitable descent depicted in "Phantasm." Here, our hero awakens to the harsh truth: it was all but a fleeting dream. As the music fades, the hero grasps the fleeting nature of his adventure—a profound revelation within the melody and myth of the EP."

The EP begins with "Soul Ties," which features a house-like breakbeat pattern and is the start of the hero's quest. "Ghoul," a collaboration with Of The Trees, showcases experimental stabs, laser zaps, and mystical forest atmospherics, giving the essence if the peak of the hero's struggle. "Ifrit," inspired by Islamic mythology, illustrates the supernatural with its portrayal of a powerful and malevolent jinn with a sinister choir and ominous bass.

Next, is "Shenlong," a term from Chinese mythology meaning "Divine Dragon" symbolizing strength, protection, and good fortune combined with gritty bass stabs and high-energy wood reverb percussion, marking the hero's ascent from darkness and he conquers this demon. Closing the EP is “Phantasm” which means illusion, where the hero awakens from the fleeting dream and embarks on his new adventure.

In essence, this six-track EP delivers a musical journey crafted in the timeless pattern of a hero's quest—the "Monomyth." This collection not only showcases Saka's innovative blend of electronic bass music and Chinese cultural elements but also creates an experience filled with adventure, struggle, and transformation.

ABOUT SMOAKLAND

Injecting the West Coast scene with audacious spirit and a kinetic pulse, Smoakland—comprised of dynamic duo Anthony Battaglia and Harrison Hays—stays true to the edgy ethos of their Bay Area roots. The pair met at Boise State University and merged their shared passions: the smoky charm of cannabis culture and the explosive world of dubstep, forming Smoakland in 2018.

Smoakland's distinctive sound—a gripping fusion of "Old School" Dubstep—has garnered international acclaim, drawing inspiration from industry trailblazers such as Zeds Dead, Eptic, and Mersiv. Their unique groove pays homage to their first love, the Afrojack-spun genre "Dirty Dutch," an early influence that kick-started Anthony's dive into music production in 2014.

Both Anthony and Harry wear their hearts on their sleeves, transforming personal trials and triumphs into sonic stories. Harry found his muse during a rough patch in life, a transformative period that culminated in his revelation: "Smoakland saved my life." On the flip side, Anthony found inspiration in a heart-wrenching personal loss. A life-altering moment at Burning Man, coupled with a perfectly timed call from Harry, sparked the birth of their musical brotherhood.

Since their debut, Smoakland’s journey has been one wild ride. Their shared vibe, 100% freestyle, unearths a raw rhythm and flow that only a true bond can bring. Their niche—a nod to Bay Area sports and legendary cannabis strains like Cinderella 99—has struck a chord with headbangers, critics, and enthusiasts alike.

Smoakland's milestones include a ground-shaking debut at Electric Forest in 2022, drawing a crowd of 15,000; a riveting performance at Red Rocks under their DnB alter ego Liquid Smoak; and their chart-smashing Deadbeats EP Smoak Sesh, which hit No. 1 on Beatport Dubstep in Fall 2022. The duo is also set to support longtime inspirations Zeds Dead at Deadrocks IX in July 2023.

Smoakland's journey speaks volumes about resilience and the power of transformation. As Harry says, "You can literally rewrite your life at any given time." Rising from humble beginnings to electrifying masses at Electric Forest and Red Rocks, and headlining the High Rollers Tour with Kumarion, Smoakland is just getting started. With their intoxicating story and undeniable talent, this duo is poised to keep shaking up the music scene.

With stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and nearly a century of cultural history, Folsom Field offers an unparalleled setting for what is poised to be one of Colorado’s most anticipated live music events of 2025.

The event is presented by AEG Presents Rocky Mountains, in partnership with CU Boulder, and follows Summit’s sold-out takeovers at Red Rocks, Madison Square Garden, and his Experts Only festival series in Vail, CO. Known for chart-topping hits like “Where You Are” and “Go Back,” Summit will bring his signature energy to one of the nation’s most iconic open-air venues.

ABOUT JOHN SUMMIT:

John Summit is one of the most sought-after names in global dance music. The superstar DJ, producer, and label owner has nearly one billion all time global streams across his catalog, two #1 US dance radio hits, two Top 10 tracks on the Billboard Hot Electronic/Dance Songs chart, and sold-out shows across the globe, including BMO Stadium in Los Angeles (22,000) in the fall of 2023 and Madison Square Garden (17,000) in New York City coming up later this summer, with tickets selling out in under two hours. Whether he’s headlining a sold-out show or an intimate club, the Chicago native, now based in Miami, brings his signature brand of high-octane spirit everywhere he goes. However, behind the larger-than-life persona is a thoughtful, detail-oriented artist who once worked as a CPA by day and taught music production tutorials by night. As a recording artist, he logs long hours in the studio, perfecting each of his dynamic songs. He's toured the world, closing out huge festivals including headlining the Sahara Stage at Coachella 2024, and putting on his own shows in unparalleled locations like the slopes of Vail Mountain and the Caverns in Tennessee as part of his label Experts Only. One of the top touring acts in the world, Summit also has a keen interest in the underground scene, and Experts Only is part of his commitment to platforming the next generation of dance music talent. With global hits “Where You Are” (feat. HAYLA), “Human” (feat. Echoes) and “Go Back” w/ Sub Focus (feat. Julia Church) under his belt, Summit is set to release his hugely anticipated debut album Comfort In Chaos, on July 12th via Experts Only/Darkroom. The album, encapsulating themes of vice and virtue, highs and lows, total human duality, sees the artist revealing the man behind the icon, injecting his usual body-first approach to dance music with genuine heart and emotion. Summit is set to only get even bigger this year, all while releasing a body of work that’s rare in musical ingenuity and uncompromising in its memoir-like tone and texture.

As Zeds Dead prepare for their historic 11th annual Deadrocks takeover at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 2 and 3, the Canadian electronic music icons are also bringing back one of the summer’s most beloved celebrations: the 5th Annual Backyard Jamboree, returning to Denver’s Civic Center Park on July 4.

Now in its fifth year, the Backyard Jamboree has grown from a fan appreciation BBQ into a 10,000-person, community-focused music festival. Blending all-day performances, local vendors, and classic lawn games, it’s become a defining feature of Deadbeats’ Colorado calendar — welcoming fans of all ages to celebrate with food, fun, and unmatched vibes in the heart of the city.

The 2025 performance lineup features a powerhouse roster of fan-favorites and rising talent, including Ravenscoon, Cool Customer, Villager, Nikita, The Wicked, Skellytn, Don Jamal, Noises, Soki, Keenan Mathias, and Papajay.

This year’s Jamboree follows the release of Zeds Dead’s first album in nearly a decade, Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness —a psychedelic concept record currently fueling a nationwide headline tour and 55-minute visual companion film. With the new album as a backdrop and Deadrocks XI already sold out before lineup reveal, the July 4th Jamboree stands as the final chapter in a three-day takeover of Colorado.

Event Highlights:

Live music all day (lineup TBA, curated by Zeds Dead and Deadbeats)

First artists announced: Ravenscoon and Cool Customer

Deadbeats’ legendary hot dog eating contest — one of the largest west of the Mississippi

Backyard activities: dunk tanks, 3-legged races, donut-on-a-string, inflatable games, and more

Vendor village featuring food trucks, crafts, and local creators

Family-friendly environment with games and installations

Interactive brand activations and community engagement zones

Ravenscoon joins the celebration following a sold-out Mission Ballroom show and 25-date Glass Orchid headline tour. Fusing punk, metal, and hip-hop with psychedelic bass music, Ravenscoon has become a standout voice in the experimental bass scene. Also announced is rising Deadbeats artist Cool Customer, whose glitch-hop-meets-bass stylings have made him one of the most talked-about new producers in the genre, with co-signs from Zeds Dead, Subtronics, and Tape B.

The event is designed as a daylong retreat for superfans and newcomers alike, reflecting the duo’s jam-band–inspired approach to live touring: building immersive weekends, rallying loyal audiences, and elevating community-led energy. Last year’s festivities featured performances across two stages, prize-winning competitions, and pop-up experiences from longtime Deadbeats partners.

From underground pioneers to arena-scale curators, Zeds Dead’s evolution continues to center on fan connection and creative risk-taking. This year’s Deadrocks will introduce a brand-new set built around their latest album and its accompanying visuals, while the Jamboree closes out the weekend with lighthearted fun and high-impact sound.

The Backyard Jamboree caps a monumental stretch for Zeds Dead, following the release of their first album in over eight years, Return To The Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness. A 14-track sonic odyssey rooted in sampling, nostalgia, and freeform creativity, the project has been praised as the duo’s most immersive work to date — pairing glitchy, time-warped beats with a psychedelic visual companion film. Inspired by the idea of a TV flickering through decades of music and memory, the album marks a homecoming to the unfiltered experimentation that defines Zeds Dead, and sets the tone for their 2025 Deadrocks XI performances and national headline tour.

Tickets for the Backyard Jamboree are on sale now, and demand is expected to surpass previous years. Fans are encouraged to secure theirs early. More information and tickets are available at: deadbeats.lnk.to/Jamboree2025
