Mike Fuller, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, brings his brand of Americana rock-and-roll to life with the release of his debut EP, ‘The Human Condition EP.’ The three-song work features the driving “Paper Cut” to the melodic “After a While”, a harmonious hymn drawing influence from The Beatles and Crosby, Stills, and Nash. While each song varies in style and tone, they all circle back to universal themes of mental health and fragility.

Fuller recorded ‘The Human Condition EP’ at Studio 5L in Belmar, NJ with engineer Charlie Cunliffe and Nautilus Recording Studio in San Angelo, TX, with Grammy-winning engineer Gary Laney, who has worked with legends including Johnny Cash, REM, and Trisha Yearwood.

“I’m so excited to share these songs," Fuller said. "They stem from a lot of reflection about life and how delicate things can be, and the COVID-19 pandemic underscores a lot of that meaning for me. I hope these recordings can offer comfort to those who are struggling now, and I can’t wait to play them live when venues are safe."

Fuller spent much of 2019 testing material in numerous Jersey City and Hoboken venues before moving to and performing in Brooklyn in early 2020 just before the City shut down. Since then,he built an Instagram Live concert series called, “Quarantunes,” hosting numerous artists from local NYC musicians to national and international touring acts. Through ten weeks of shows, they raised over $3,500 for various charities supporting COVID-19 pandemic relief. The series was featured on NBC4 NY and the Rowan University website.

Singer/songwriter, guitarist, and New Yorker Mike Fuller spent much of the pandemic like many of us– floating in existential dread, contemplating life and his future. With so many songs written, he now had the time and felt the drive to bring them to life on record. He found a theme in three of his songs: chaotic love stories which filled a decade of his life.

The first of this trio, to be featured on his forthcoming album, “The Missed Connection EP,” is “Ms. Wrong”–the lady he knew wasn’t right for him but couldn't resist. Fuller recorded Ms. Wrong at his home studio in Brooklyn with Jordan Rose (Theo Katzman, Caleb Hawley, Cory Wong) on drums and percussion and Andy Hess (The Black Crowes, Gov’t Mule) on bass. “Andy and Jordan brought this song to a level I never imagined it might go,” Fuller said. “We've all heard stories about trying to find Mr. Right, or Mrs. Right, or whatever it is that you're after, but I feel like there aren't as many examples of people going after something they acknowledge isn't right for them and doing it anyway,” Fuller noted. “Whether it's a person you feel you're incompatible with, or a job you know you'll hate but offers a nice paycheck, or even just that extra plate of food on Thanksgiving after you've already loosened your belt a couple notches. We all do it. I wanted to write a song that represented that feeling in a pretty literal way.”

Prior to the release of The Human Condition EP, Fuller hosted an Instagram Live concert series, cheekily titled “Quarantunes,” where he connected fellow musicians from across the U.S. to raise money for a variety of charities responding to our COVID-19 pandemic. “Quarantunes” raised $3.5k+ in ten weeks, and took Fuller to virtual stages alongside Robert Randolph, Ryan Montbleau, Danny Black (Good Old War), Womack (Futurebirds), Andrew Michael Burri (Lucius), Katie Toupin (Houndmouth), Oliver Bates Craven (The Stray Birds), Caleb Hawley, Sean Walsh (The National Reserve), Ben Wyeth (Brand, Hockey) and Ali Awan.
