Phantasy Tour donated the space on the back of each checklist card to Backline to promote the great work they are doing in support of the musicians we love and the people that support them. Backline is a hub for music industry professionals and their families to quickly and easily access mental health and wellness resources. Baltimore-based social media company Phantasy Tour today announced the second series of their live music trading cards. These high quality, officially licensed trading cards feature the photos and biographical information of top touring musicians and bands across various genres. Purchases of Phantasy Cards financially support the featured bands, which is especially helpful during the pandemic. An online catalog of all cards in the series is available at https://phantasy.cards

Series Two of Phantasy Cards features ALO, Ballyhoo!, Billy Strings, Dumpstaphunk, Fortunate Youth, Ghost Light, lespecial, Lotus, Magic Beans, Papadosio, Spafford, and Yonder Mountain String Band. The full series includes a card for each band member and a full band card for each band for a total 68 cards to collect. Each pack contains 1 randomly selected card from each band in the series and one of two checklist cards. The backs of the checklist cards feature a 6-piece collectible puzzle from our sponsor, Section 119, makers of officially licensed Grateful Dead and Donut apparel (https://section119.com/). The cards showcase the work of both ametuer and professional concert photographers and were taken at venues large and small across the country. We’re pleased to have once again collaborated with Nate Gonzalez of The Moon Life Clothing on the design of the cards and packaging.

Phantasy Tour founder Paul Glace says “Series One was a huge success thanks to the bands and photographers that participated and the great reception received from fans. I’m so pleased that we’re able to offer another round of this fun collectible with a new eclectic group of bands. I hope this serves as a source of enjoyment for fans while live music is on hiatus due to the pandemic.”

Packs and boxes of Series Two cards are on sale now at https://merch.phantasytour.com.

Social media website Phantasy Tour has partnered with the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) to produce a series of collectible trading cards featuring independent venues on sale now at https://merch.phantasytour.com. The first ever Phantasy Cards Venue Series features 54 venues from across the country, each with their own card. They include hometown favorites such as The 8x10, The Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley, Tipitina’s, the Boulder Theater, and McMenamins Crystal Ballroom. Proceeds from sales of the Venue Series support NIVA and its mission to preserve and nurture the ecosystem of independent venues and promoters throughout the United States (https://www.nivassoc.org).

Phantasy Tour, a popular online destination for live music fans, began producing live music themed trading cards in 2019. Its first two series of officially licensed trading cards feature 97 musicians from 21 bands. Series One is sold out; Series Two is still available. The cards offer an opportunity to bring fans and bands together during a time when concerts with live audiences are paused. They provide live music fans a fun way to connect with each other, support artists, and now support venues. Collectors have enjoyed trading the cards to complete their sets, performing box breaks, getting artist signatures on their cards and framing them for display.

“Collaborating with NIVA on a venue series was a natural extension of what we’ve been doing with Phantasy Cards,” said Phantasy Tour founder Paul Glace. “We are thrilled to bring a little bit of venues back into fans homes until we can return to the venues in person. Fans can feel good knowing that their venue series purchases support NIVA and their efforts on behalf of our struggling independent venues.”

NIVA VENUE SERIES

Each card in the series features a photo of the venue on the front, venue information on the back and a foil stamp for authenticity. The cards are randomly sorted into packs containing 9 venues each. In addition to packs, collectible display boxes containing 16 packs are also available for sale. The cards and packaging were designed by Nate Gonzalez of The Moon Life (https://themoonlife.com).

All venues in the series are members of NIVA. Phantasy Tour selected the venues in the series from a pool of applicants that responded to an invitation from NIVA last fall. A complete list of the venues in the new series can be found at https://phantasy.cards. Artists and venues interested in being featured on a trading card in the future can inquire at https://phantasy.cards/contact-us.
