Described as High-Octane Rocky Mountain DanceGrass, Whitewater Ramble (WWR) uses a simple recipe to craft its sound: start with bluegrass instrumentation, add drums, and finish with a boundary-less approach to grassing-up everything from disco house grooves to roots to Americana. For over ten years, WWR has been captivating audiences across the U.S. with an engaging stage presence and insightful and poignant lyrics. The band’s second studio album Roots & Groove showcases WWR’s growth as songwriters and musicians. Produced by Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth, the album features an array of special guests such as Andy Hall on dobro (Infamous Stringdusters), Andy Thorn on banjo (Leftover Salmon), Grammy Award winner John Macy on pedal steel and Bill McKay on piano.

Roots & Groove showcases a roots influenced modern string band blending the traditions of early American music with a newgrass flair and a groovegrass twist. The band’s original music explores the humanistic elements of the flawed man. Roots & Groove is storytelling through nefarious narratives, murderous ballads, devilish villanelles, scorned lover’s laments and intoxicant-infused ramblings blended with mystical visions and instrumental journeys. Through blistering picking, engaging harmonies and alluring grooves, the ensemble burrows flagrantly into tragedy, comedy, redemption, overindulgence, morality and shady dealings as the backdrop for their genuine and eccentric style of writing.

How better to describe Kinetix, a band whose 2010 album Let Me In hit #47 on the iTunes Top 200 Rock Charts and who played separate national tours with hip hop darlings Flobots and Australian roots-rock kings Beautiful Girls? Currently on tour behind their new EP Never Too Late, Kinetix has shown that they are masters at redefining their ever-evolving sound. Tough Talk was recorded over the summer of 2012 at Scanhope Sound in Littleton, CO and engineered by Josh Fairman (New Mastersounds, Ivan Neville, Kinetix). The album features Joe Tatton of The New Mastersounds on organ, piano from Bill Mckay and pedal steel by Grammy-award-winner John Macy and The Black Swans on backup vocals. The album is a rich roller coaster of funk with super-sized helpings of rock, blues, soul and even alt-country.

“We’re really excited to return to some of our favorite places" frontman Jonathan “Skippy” Huvard says. "We’re very proud of our second album and think it really showcases where we are as a band and our live show is bringing an energy like we’ve never seen. We’re so excited to be hitting up places like Montana and Washington state again and especially for our fourth trip through the Southeast.”

Make no mistake, FSAS reeks of the roadhouses and West Texas honky-tonks of the Deep South that inspired their signature sound. The band features a pounding rhythm section, stellar lead guitar work and whiskey-soaked lead vocals.

If their opening slots on multiple national tours with funk legends The New Mastersounds are any indication, FSAS is a band that is poised to break through on the national scene at any moment. There’s a reason why artists like Papa Mali, Robert Randolph, Brian Jordan, Nigel Hall, Stanton Moore, Tony Hall, Corey Henry, The Motet, George Porter Jr., and others have sat in extensively with the band: musicians realize these guys have serious chops and the sound is some serious fun.

DanceGrass masters Whitewater Ramble have revisited some of their more “traditional” roots with the release of their new video “Dear Mr. Bankman” from their 2013 release Roots & Groove. The video release coincides with an ambitious Fall 2013 tour.

“I love this video but it makes you think,” says Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth who produced the band’s album.  “We went for a "vintage" sound on this cut. Wouldn't it be nice if the sentiment of the song was "vintage" too. Unfortunately Dear Mr. Bankman could be sung by many family farmers today with the same conviction Patrick sings it here. This is a fun video about a not so fun truth. Great job guys!”

September of 2013 marks the five year anniversary of the start of the “Great Recession.” Whitewater Ramble wraps their own narrative over this difficult time with honest and thoughtful lyrics accompanied by a light “gee golly” knee-slapping feel.  The result is a “fusion of bluegrass and roots music into the 21st century.” Since its release, “Bankman” has been picked up by over 100 stations across the US. Canada and Europe for airplay.

Whitewater Ramble is now on tour behind Roots & Groove. The album showcases WWR’s growth as songwriters and musicians. Fox Street is quickly gaining a reputation for being one of the hardest working rock and roll bands on the Colorado music scene. Voted Denver’s “Best Traditional Rock Band” at the 2013 Westword Music Showcase, the group also played raging headline shows for packed houses at The Bluebird Theater and Larimer Lounge. In the February 2014 edition of Colorado Music Buzz, Fox Street was named amongst the "best jam bands" in Colorado:

"Fox Street just might be the most unique band on this list, fusing a honky-tonk inspired soul sound in with the funky freshness of the jam scene... The press train continues to add critical acclaim to the band... Fox Street is a top band to watch in 2014."

While the band is proud to be a part of the vibrant Denver music community, they have been making strides on the national scene as well: Fox Street was named a “must see” act at Musikfest 2013 (America’s largest free music festival in Bethelhem, PA) by both the Los Angeles Times and The Chicago Tribune.

Fox Street boasts a big, soulful rock n' roll sound laced with three-part harmonies, screaming guitars, soulful sax, and a devastatingly funky rhythm section. It certainly helps that the members of Fox Street share varied influences throughout American roots music -- blues, jazz, country and a whole lotta funk  -- but also have shared in the experience of taking Fox Street on the road together which gives the band a certain tightness and a dynamic range that simply cannot be acquired any other way. Over the past five years, Fox Street played hundreds of shows, maintained a relentless coast-to-coast tour schedule and spent countless of hours in the studio with Denver engineer/producer Josh Fairman (New Mastersounds, Ivan Neville, Kinetix) crafting two internationally acclaimed, self-produced, full-length albums: Welcome to Mighty Pleasin’ (2010) and Tough Talk (2013).

)

It’s the Fox Street sound that’s landed the band gigs sharing the bill and often the stage with contemporary touring acts like Tedeschi Trucks Band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Robert Randolph and The Family Band and Galactic; as well as members of legendary groups including The Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat, and The Meters.
