Resonance Music and Arts Festival, presented by Essential Productions, Papadosio, and Mammoth Music Group, just keeps getting better! Earlier this month, Resonance teased fans with the addition of several artists on their social media channels. Progressive rock band Umphrey’s McGee, Vermont jam-rockers Twiddle, high-energy psychedelic funk group Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, dynamic improvisational outfit Dopapod, and instrumental rock fusion quartet TAUK were all gradually leaked online in anticipation of the full lineup announcement. Today, the sixth annual event is proud to also welcome EOTO (two sets), Desert Dwellers, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Big Something, Sunsquabi (two sets), Chris Karns, and many more to the lineup. The new wave of artists will accompany the already stacked lineup of acts performing the weekend of September 19-22, 2019. A confirmed listing of the full lineup is below and tickets are available now through http://resonancemusicfest.com/.

Progressive-rock and electro-synth quintet Papadosio are proudly presenting the sixth iteration of Resonance Music & Arts Festival in tandem with Mammoth Music Group and Essential Productions. Best known for their energetic live performances filled with mesmerizing instrumentation, improvisational skills, and intricate visual production, Papadosio have always had a special place for Resonance in their hearts since it's origination in their home state of Ohio in 2014. "The excitement is palpable for what will be the best Resonance festival yet!" says Anthony Thogmartin of Papadosio (guitar, synth, vocals). "We've got a whopping four sets of sound and sight for you including a bunch of new music, and even a Gorillaz tribute set! This is the one 'must not miss' Papadosio event of the year." As if that weren’t enough, fans will also be treated to two of the band’s other projects at Resonance: Brether; a collection of music by Sam Brouse (keys, vocals), and Billy Brouse (keys, vocals), and EarthCry; Anthony’s (guitar, synth, vocals) secondary musical undertaking that uses live instruments, mixing, slicing, and looping, to create unique electronic arrangements.

After four successful years at Legend Valley, and a successful inaugural year at Frontier Ranch prior, Resonance is moving to a new home. This year, the festival is proud to celebrate it’s sixth annual event at Coopers Lake Campground in Western PA right when the air begins to feel a little cooler and the leaves begin to change. "We're really excited to officially be teaming up with Papadosio this year, as well as our move to Cooper's Lake!" says festival organizer and partner at Essential Productions Casey Schneider. "Resonance is really coming into its own and I think it's proper that it received a home all to itself." The new location boasts a 500-acre site giving festival goers even more room to roam. The property also features a stunning natural landscape with fields, woods, hills, a lake, and even a castle giving attendees the perfect setting to wrap up their festival year. Dynamic progressive-rock and electro-synth quintet Papadosio are proud to announce the debut of their new music video “Catalyst”. The single was performed for the first time at the iconic underground cave-accessed attraction The Caverns where the video was recorded in high definition using a five-angle multicam. In celebration of the release of “Catalyst,” Papadosio will kick off their fall tour later this week. A full list of tour dates is available below.

“Catalyst” takes the listener on an instrumental thrill-ride. The track climbs up and down chromatical scales combining electronic and synth elements with unique time signatures and a heavy drum and bass beat. Coming in at just under nine minutes, the lengthy composition navigates through a series of builds and dips, delivering a complex yet catchy arrangement. The live music video captures the vital energy of the crowd as they anxiously heed the new sounds and craftsmanship of the five musicians. The natural acoustics of the venue and the intimacy of the show provided an organic quality that resulted in goosebumps and an appetite for more.

Papadosio will be performing Catalyst live at a city near you on their upcoming fall tour. The tour will kick off in Colorado this weekend with dates across the country into the New Year. A full list of dates is available below.

Kentucky’s funky jam outfit Big Atomic has just released their brand new single “Justice Denied.” The politically-charged tune, which premiered exclusively through Glide Magazine yesterday, will appear on the quintet's forthcoming EP album Body Politic. Body Politic was written in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and inspired by the band’s participation in regional protests last summer. Although the album will be officially released to the public on June 25th, 2021, fans can reserve it now through the band’s GoFundMe fundraiser which benefits underrepresented and underserved communities in the greater Louisville area. In celebration of the release, Big Atomic has also added a handful of new live shows to their calendar including their own two-day album release show, happening next weekend at Zanzabar on June 4th and 5th. A full list of dates can be found below with more dates to be announced soon. Listen to the first single “Justice Denied” HERE.

Recorded in their hometown of Louisville, KY at DeadBird Recording Studios, Big Atomic’s third studio album delivers more of the familiar funk, jam, and improvisational rock n’ roll sound that Big Atomic have been crafting since 2013. However, Body Politic charts into new territory with a heavy stream of lyrical consciousness reflective of the political mood that ignited after multiple unjust deaths of African Americans in 2020. Big Atomic’s lead singer/songwriter Shannon Vetter tells Glide Magazine “Justice Denied was written after a long night marching for justice and accountability for the murder of Breonna Taylor.” He continues “the lyrics "Speak Truth to Power" are repeated throughout the chorus of the song because we decided it was important to stand up for what's right. We spoke truth to power by going directly to the Louisville Metro Police headquarters, only to be met with tear gas and rubber bullets.” The song reminds the listener of the somber months of rioting, resilience, and political unrest last year. Vetter explains that “I can never fully understand the Black struggle, but I’ll take my cue from Black leadership, specifically Black women.”

Big Atomic

Big Atomic is currently supporting the fight against inequality by offering a download of their new album to anyone who contributes to their GoFundMe campaign. The campaign will benefit the local non-profit organization Change Today, Change Tomorrow which focuses on providing access to resources, education, and community engagement to all African Americans in the Greater Louisville area. Big Atomic will also be donating vintage vinyls, posters, shirts, and stickers towards the cause to entice fans to donate. To learn more, and to make a contribution please visit their GoFundMe.

Big Atomic has mapped out several tour dates that will have them traveling up and down the Atlantic coast this summer. The tour will kick off with a two-night album release party in their hometown of Louisville KY on June 4th and 5th, and will precede a scattering of appearances on the summer festival circuit including performances at FloydFest (VA), Birds of a Feather (KY), and Moonshiners Ball (KY). A full listing of confirmed tour dates is below, with additional tour date announcements coming soon.
