The high energy rock ‘n’ roll band West Water Outlaws from Boulder, Colorado was formed in early 2010 playing parties in the basement of singer Blake “Whiskey” Rooker’s house. During the mass explosion of DJ software and macbook pros, not many parties in Boulder featured live rock bands. The rock parties were a hit and the band began playing in bars and local clubs for a small fee of beer and food. Since adding Andrew “Monkey” Oakley on drums and Vincent Ellwood on bass, The West Water Outlaws have recently shared the stage with national acts such as, Jerry Joseph, ALO, Assembly of Dust, The Stone Foxes, Rose Hill Drive, Dirty Sweet, The Swayback, Dick Dale, and Rival Sons.Since then, the Colorado favorite has sold out the Fox Theatre multiple times and has headlined the Boulder Theater with a local draw of over 600 + people. The West Water Outlaws ambitiously plan to rock over 150 shows nationally before the end of 2013 in order to reach new audiences. Real Killer EP (2012) was recorded at UI Sound. The band has always had a very open and diplomatic writing dynamic. Rooker, who writes most of the lyrics for the group, says that anyone in the band who has an idea is encouraged to “kick it in.” That carried over to the UI Sound staff who added suggestions of mics and tones and, according to Rooker, really helped to shape the entire project. “We became like best friends with Evan, and Tira and Max,” said Rooker as he reflected on the influence that studio producer Evan Reeves and his entire team had on the final outcome of the album. The fall of 2013 brings the release of the first full-length album to date by the band. The 11-song album will feature all new material and will be a “self – titled” release. Audiences and fans of Led Zeppelin and the Black Keys will find the sound particularly captivating and refreshing. The West Water Outlaws look forward to touring nationally in support of the new album, bringing their new and unique voice to the fans of a vintage rock ‘n’ roll sound.Complete tour and show info is available at www.westwateroutlaws.com

West Water Outlaws “Paranoid” New Year’s Eve at the Fox Theatre will feature one original set plus one cover set of the ENTIRE ALBUM of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”. The Yawpers and In the Whale join the special NYE show.

February 4, 2014 brought the release of West Water Outlaws’ first full-length album. The 13-song album features all new material and showcases several different sides of the band, with all of the reliable hard-hitting rock that the band excels at. Artistic interludes and unusual instrumentation peppered throughout the album are reflective of the band’s quirky personality.

The West Water Outlaws look forward to playing their hometown in support of the new album, while bringing their new and distinct voice to the fans of a vintage rock ‘n’ roll sound by covering Black Sabbath.  West Water Outlaws have been carving their own path through Rock N Roll and are keeping guitar-driven, blues-influenced rock alive with their high-voltage live shows.

Bred on Led Zeppelin, classic rock and the blues of Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, the band formed in 2010 in Boulder. The band played house parties at frontman Blake Rooker’s house and elsewhere, quickly leading to gigs in bars around the Front Range. Over the past two years they have graduated to playing regular sold-out shows at the Fox Theatre while zigzagging the U.S. on national tours. Gaining industry attention throughout the nation the band has been seen at SXSW, McDowell Mtn Music Festival, Joshua Tree Music festival, Grand Targhee Music Festival and more!

Kicking off the New Year with a very exciting spring that is filled with festivals and club dates, SunSquabi are thrilled to release a brand new Zapp and Roger remix titled “Heartbreaker part 1.” The single displays the ongoing studio grind that the band goes through on a weekly basis. Their constant effort to change and mature their sound is evident through this latest release. The band has caught the attention of artists such as Griz who has recently collaborated with the band in the studio and on the live scene. SunSquabi continues to break down and analyze the expectations of what a “Live-Electronic” band should be. SunSquabi is dedicated to their ever evolving craft in the studio and on the live stage.

It's no wonder the twenty-something’s in SunSquabi are gaining national attention for their unique sound. People always ask them to describe their music, the band has multiple answers but most often describe it as an Electronic Hydro Funk Experience.

The group has already performed at some of the country’s most notable music festivals (Wakarusa, Summer Camp, Euphoria Music Festival, Mcdowell Mountain Music Festival, Sonic Bloom, Snowball, SXSW and more). Since May 2012, the trio has been consistently touring the U.S. and rapidly gaining recognition from the ever-evolving EDM and Live-Electronic markets. SunSquabi has shared the stage with Big Gigantic, Pretty Lights, Griz, Murphy of STS9, Up Until Now, Two Fresh, Conspirator, Michal Menert, Boombox, The Floozies, Archnemesis, Break Science, Minnesota, Ghostland Observatory and many more.

SunSquabi has launched out of 2015 like a cannonball. Quickly becoming one of the premier up and coming acts on the national scene, the band recognizes the strong roots that Colorado has provided them. Colorado comes with a lot of pressure and healthy competition pushing the band to new heights day in and day out. With a new EP (Anytime EP) released on May 4th, 2015 via Adapted Records (Australia); the band is gearing up for a busy summer filled with recording a new record, performances at music festivals, a debut at Red Rocks with GRIZ, and nationwide club dates. Staying fresh in the Live-electronic world is something the band prioritizes and is of upmost priority.

SunSquabi continues to break down and analyze the expectations of what a “Live-Electronic” band should be. Dedicated to their ever evolving craft in the studio and on the live stage, it's no wonder the twenty-something’s in SunSquabi are gaining national attention for their unique sound. When asked to describe their sound the band has multiple answers but most often describe it as an Electronic Hydro Funk Experience. Bringing in bigger and bigger production elements to their live show is also a priority and a huge factor in the genre. Their most recent front range show came on 4/24 at the Fox Theatre. This show has definitely set the bar for what fans can expect from the band in future performances. Here is a video recap of that show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtD9BHB6tnM

SunSquabi has launched out of 2015 like a cannonball on fire. The local trio has quickly become one of the premier up and coming acts in Colorado. Their last 3 plays in the Front Range have all been sellouts including the 1up on Colfax, The Fox Theatre and the Bluebird Theater. There is a perfect storm brewing for the band and the recognition is starting to come in from all over the U.S. The next 2 months to come is a true testament to their hard work and constant touring. It is paying off in a big way. Headlining a free event on The Hill in Boulder (8/29) will be a great preview for what’s to come the following week at Red Rocks (9/4). The band is set to tackle their first performance at the legendary amphitheater with GRiZ, The Floozies, Manic Focus and Muzzy Bearr.
