ABOUT THE DISCO BISCUITS

The Disco Biscuits are an entirely different band today than they were when they first broke out of Philadelphia in the mid-90s. That's not to say that they've abandoned their foundation, switched gears or set sail for distant shores. The Disco Biscuits are still very much the pioneers of "trancefusion," bridging the gap between electronic music and jam bands. They still remain rock pioneers whose soul belongs as much to marathon dance parties as it does to live improvisational journeys. They still employ emerging technologies to help them create music that is 100 percent human although, perhaps, not entirely of this earth.

ABOUT CAMP BISCO

Camp Bisco, founded in 1999, is a three day outdoor music festival held at the picturesque Montage Mountain, a world-class concert venue & waterpark. The event features music from the genre's hottest artists and activities such as yoga, a 5K road race with The Disco Biscuits' Marc Brownstein, a summer camp-themed color war, and other wellness-inspired programming. The summer festival also hosts food and craft vendors, as well as perks that can only be found at a site with true infrastructure, such as on-site restaurants, showers, bathrooms and more. Additionally, festival founders and hosts, The Disco Biscuits, will once again host a pre-festival soundcheck BBQ party for VIP ticket buyers on July 8.

Wed, 07/08/2020 - 4:15 pm

Tonight, July 8th, The Disco Biscuits will air their performance from Red Rocks with Mickey Hart and Billy Kreutzman on Nugs.net at 8:30 PM EST. The famed three-set show, dubbed Bisco Inferno, was filmed at the legendary venue and will air for one time only. The band has also announced a special merchandise collection for the performance that combines many of their classical components with the aesthetic of the Grateful Dead, which is being sold exclusively at Hiline Merchandise.

Blues rockers THE PICTUREBOOKS release their new single "Holy Ghost" feat. Jon Harvey (Monster Truck) today. Watch the music video, which was recorded in Guetersloh (GER), Los Angeles (USA) and Hamilton (CAN), HERE. The song is also available to purchase and stream, HERE.

“Hallelujah. Sounds the same in every language. The meaning never changes. A divine celebration. When my good buddies The Picturebooks contacted me about working on a song with them, I heard a few things they’d been working on and the music for ‘Holy Ghost’ immediately grabbed my brain and shook it. The vibe was so sexy and groovy that it almost felt taboo, and the concept came together effortlessly. The lyrics are about the magnetism and attraction you feel when someone who checks all your boxes visually, enters. The fleeting intensity of an unknown future imagined in seconds. Like a spiritual uprising, that flushes your cheeks and speeds your heartbeat. What I can only imagine, is what heaven feels like,” states Jon Harvey about the collaboration.

THE PICTUREBOOKS vocalist and guitarist, Fynn Grabke adds, “When we wrote ’Holy Ghost’ we immediately heard Jon Harvey’s awesome voice on it! Monster Truck became our best buddies after all the touring we did together in the past all over Europe and Canada. We always wanted to do a song together. To be honest, we didn’t know how good this song really was or could be. It was Jon who turned it into one of the coolest things we’ve ever recorded and we’re so happy about it! Thank you to this freaking pandemic to have shown the world once again that nothing will ever stop music!!! People will always find ways to make music because people need it. Because we need to create and enjoy it. There’s no better cure for anything!“

THE PICTUREBOOKS recently revealed the title of their new album last month, now the boys are proud to present the official artwork as well as the full tracklisting of The Major Minor Collective, which will be out September 3rd, 2021.

Nearly 20 years after their last full length studio release, Australia’s iconic rock band Midnight Oil today release the brand-new album, aptly titled RESIST.

In signature style these dozen tracks tackle a slew of urgent issues. From opener, ‘Rising Seas’ through ‘Last Frontier’ which closes the set, recurring themes include climate crisis, environmental degradation and the role of citizens alive to the immense challenges of our times. Moods stretch from the wilderness reverie of ‘Tarkine’ and the poignant ‘Lost At Sea’ to the anthemic protest celebration ‘We Resist’ while the album’s musical span is equally broad, encompassing slashing guitars in new single ‘At The Time Of Writing’ and brooding synthetic textures in ‘We Are Not Afraid’. There’s even a three-part epic called ‘The Barka-Darling River’ that keeps delivering surprising twists as it snakes along.

In line with the album coming out today, the band have also shared the official video for ‘We Resist’. This short film combines submissions of protest actions by Midnight Oil fans from around the globe as well as archival footage from a handful of the many such events staged by the band over the years.

The band also confirmed today that next Friday, February 25th, they will announce a handful of June shows in North America as part of Midnight Oil’s final tour.

RESIST is Midnight Oil’s 15th studio release since they first exploded out of the post-punk scene back in 1978, blazing a singular trail of blistering gigs from Australia’s pubs and clubs to arenas and festivals around the world. It is a fitting, forward looking, statement for a band whose clarion call has always been “it’s better to die on your feet than live on your knees”.

Featuring stellar production by Warne Livesey, RESIST will be accompanied by some special live performances that will comprise the group’s final concert tour.

This new album was actually recorded in late 2019 and thus features long-time bass player, Bones Hillman, who sadly passed away 12 months later. Those sessions yielded 20 songs, but their release was delayed by the pandemic. The first taste of this new work landed in late 2020 as THE MAKARRATA PROJECT – a mini-album featuring some of Australia’s finest First Nations musicians, and based on the themes of reconciliation, justice and truth-telling written in the Uluru Statement from the Heart. It debuted at #1 in the band’s homeland on the same weekend that Bones passed away and went on to be nominated for five ARIA Awards. Lead single ‘Gadigal Land’ (feat. Dan Sultan, Joel Davison, Kaleena Briggs and Bunna Lawrie) received the prestigious APRA Song Of The Year.

From the northern beaches of Sydney to the streets of Manhattan, Midnight Oil has stopped traffic inflamed passions, inspired fans, challenged the concepts of “business as usual” and broken new ground. In 2017 the band returned from a 15-year hiatus for their Great Circle World Tour that encompassed 77 shows in 16 countries. The extraordinary audience and critical response to those shows lead to more European dates and an Australian outback gig in 2019 which then flowed into the recording sessions where RESIST was created. The album’s much anticipated release will therefore literally close the circle on this chapter of a truly extraordinary career.

The band also announced that this will be their final concert tour while making it clear that this does not mean the end of the Oils. Each of the members will continue their own projects over the years ahead. They remain very open to recording new music together in future and supporting causes in which they believe, but this will be their last tour. It will see them performing classic Midnight Oil songs from across their repertoire while also showcasing some urgent new works.

Stream Midnight Oil's 15th studio album RESIST HERE and stay tuned next Friday, February 25th for the announcement of Midnight Oil's final North American tour.

Following a plethora of releases throughout the year — from singles "Puffer," "Camp Anonymous" and "Burning Up Slow" — independent recording artist Cautious Clay today releases his new EP Thin Ice on the Cake, which features three brand new tracks "Lip Service," "Type II Nostalgia" and "Sarah Tonin." The new EP from the 28-year-old Brooklyn-based artist, producer, and songwriter toys with the meta surrealism of life and death found in birthdays, and the power of accepting the things we cannot control in life. STREAM HERE.

“I’ve always loved working with juxtapositions in my music”, said Cautious. “Conceptually Thin Ice on the Cake relates to being on the edge of something really bad as we grow nearer to death, but birthdays are also about celebrating the positives and joys of life. The cake is a great symbol of that.”

2022 has seen Cautious Clay support Lorde, BANKS and Jack White across the globe, alongside a run of festival dates and his own US and UK shows. His debut album Deadpan Love garnered critical acclaim from the likes of The New York Times, BBC Radio 1, NPR, KCRW, The Line of Best Fit to name but a few and won Independent Album of the Year at the Libera Awards. Cautious recently also teamed up with Kiana Ledé for single "Who Do You Think You Are"; the official title music for Netflix’s new hit show The School for Good and Evil.

Josh Karpeh aka Cautious Clay released his breakout single "Cold War" in 2018. The track, which was sampled by Taylor Swift in her single "London Boy", has just been certified RIAA Gold. Having released three acclaimed EPs to date, working alongside the likes of Dan Nigro, Saba, Jim-E Stack, Tobias Jesso Jr and Hudson Mohawke, Clay released his debut LP Deadpan Love in June 2021. His music has been featured on various hit shows including 13 Reasons Why, Gossip Girl and Insecure. Josh has also appeared in and scored music in Forest Whitaker’s Godfather of Harlem.
