New Ropeadope Artist: Jonathan Scales Fourchestra

Jonathan Scales Fourchestra are thrilled to announce their recent signing with Ropeadope Records. The label, which was founded by John Medeski and specializes in jazz, hip hop, electronic and downtempo music, has embraced the trio whose unconventional use of steel pans has further blurred the lines of contemporary jazz. On July 9th, the ensemble will digitally release their self-titled debut album, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, through their new label and will continue to perform at clubs and festivals throughout the summer. A list of currently announced dates are below.
“We're super stoked to welcome Jonathan Scales to the Ropeadope family,” says Louis Marks, CEO of Ropeadope Records. “We always have an ear for artists that transcend genre and cross boundaries at will. Jonathan Scales brings all that with excitement and intensity.”
Often lauded for their non-traditional approaches, Ropeadope is the ideal home for Jonathan Scales who has the unique ability to compose contemporary jazz arrangements that tap into funk, rock, jam, and Latin sensibilities. Jonathan Scales Fourchestra find themselves in like-minded company with label releases from Charlie Hunter, King Britt, Christian McBride, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra and more.

Jonathan Scales Fourchestra debut release includes guest appearances by Grammy winners Victor Wooten and Howard Levy (Béla Fleck and the Flecktones), fiddle virtuoso Casey Driessen, and members of the Michael Bublé Band. The album will be available digitally through iTunes and Amazon and physically through
