Inspired singer-songwriter-performer Griffin Anthony released his third full-length album, Refuge, on October 12th via Big Eyes Records.

After taking a brief hiatus from touring to compose film scores for the Woodstock Film Festival selected documentary, Catskill Park as well as HBO’s I Wanna See You and Call to Action, Anthony, now 34, sees the world through a more focused lens. “Scoring was invaluable to my evolution as a songwriter,” he says, “but I grew to miss telling my own stories.”

Recorded in East Nashville, Tennessee at The Bomb Shelter with producer Jon Estes (Kesha, John Paul White), Grammy award-winning Andirja Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Langehorn Slim), Jon Radford (Brett Dennen, Drew Holcomb) and Liz Estes (Rayland Baxter, Steelism), Refuge was completed over the course of two weeks in October of 2017. “This is the closest I’ve come to making a record that sounds and feels the way I imagined it,” says Anthony.

The nine songs on his newest release explore themes that include transition, faith, purpose, and most importantly finding strength in vulnerability. Refuge is an honest and relatable album that radiates with analog warmth and turns its back to the trends of the digital age.

Final touches were added by John Baldwin Mastering (Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard). The iTunes pre-order campaign began on August 3rd.
