Grateful Web Interview with Ricky Stein (@ SXSW)

GW: Thanks so much for taking the time to answer some questions, you’ve had a whirlwind SXSW week and GW appreciates your time.  To get started, give us a little history into the evolution of you as an artist.  You’ve been playing for almost a decade, not to mention that music is in your blood because your dad is also a musician.  What was the impetus to become one yourself?

With organic, bass-centric sounds mixing with forward-looking soundscapes, Everbody's Feelin' Real finds Freekbass bridging the gap between classic funk and the future of the groove. Aided by the vision of producer and engineer Duane Lundy (My Morning Jacket, Ben Sollee), this album lives in the rawness of the earth while traveling to the future of worlds yet to be discovered.

New Orleans Suspects & GAT | Cervantes | 3/14/2014 | Review

Digging back toward the true roots of the genre reveals a particular form and structure with certain places breading their own unique spin and history on it. New Orleans musicians are held in a high caliber for a reason.
