As they prepare to kick off the summer leg of their "Live From Paradise!" tour, reggae-influenced alternative rock band Iration has released their new single "Chill Out" via their own Three Prong Records. The melodic rock track about self-love and acceptance is a nice reminder for the summertime to "chill out" and relax amidst today's mounting pressure to fit in and appear a certain way.

California’s ALO announce that they will be releasing a series of EPs over the course of the next several seasons. The first, Creatures, Vol. 1: Spark is set to come out July 19th on Brushfire Records. As a sneak preview, the first track “Get To Do it Again" is available on all digital services today. Goose is an indie-groove band from Connecticut.  Rick Mitarotonda is the guitarist-singer-songwriter up front—his tunes are folky and hummable, and the man can shred.  Peter Anspach on guitar and keys joins Trevor Weekz on bass and Ben Atkind on drums.  They all can play, and they like to go to very deep space places.

Betty Reid Soskin's Little Village Foundation release, A Lifetime of Being Betty, is a fascinating work that taps into one African-American woman's American experience, and in the process tells an important story that's intimate, expansive and inspiring.

Tyler Ramsey, the former Band of Horses guitarist and co-writer and Carl Broemel of My Morning Jacket will team this summer on a slew of dates they have affectionally dubbed the West Coast Duo Quest.  Kicking off July 7th in Kansas City, MO, the tour marks the second time the talented duo has joined forces to bring their dynamic and collaborative night of spectacular live music to life. No conversation about the modern resurgence of Jamaican roots reggae would be complete without mentioning the influence of Jesse Royal. A man who is nothing short of the embodiment of why Jamaicans and lions so often go hand in hand, he has let his heart lead his career and brought his message of love and unity to all corners of the world. Over the past few years, his career has taken off in spectacular fashion. Performing to crowds so far away from his home town of St. James Parish and growing his fan base with every performance. After his set at this year’s Cali Roots festival, we spoke with Jesse about a wide range of topics from his family ties, stereotypes that affect him, and his relationship with something very near and dear to our hearts, The Grateful Dead.

22-year-old rising guitarist and songwriter Madison Cunningham is debuting her new song “Something To Believe In;” listen/share HERE. Cunningham says the song is about, “the hesitation someone feels before they know they can entrust their love, past, future, joy, and sorrows to another.” She goes on to explain, “I think the most reassuring version of love isn’t in finding a faultless hero, but in finding a friend who admits they are bound to fail you, but will always keep faithfully and steadily trying.”

During the first few seconds of Bobby Hawk’s first solo single, “Lights On Kinks Out,” the listener feels as though they’re tuning in through static to find a secret message unfolding on a faraway radio station. As the song comes into audio focus, it transforms into a haunting musical mantra about escaping a bad situation and returning to where one’s heart resides.
