The Motet started as a band the exact year that I moved to Boulder, 1998. I used to see members busking in the streets or see Jamie Janover playing the dulcimer on Pearl St. entertaining tourists and making a few bucks. Now, Jamie runs one of the most transcendental music festival in the country, Sonic Bloom and plays in Zilla, and the Motet is on a nationwide tour tearing up the country.

Lotus just wrapped up a lengthy tour that took the band to sold-out theaters across the country. Now, they have released a 14-track collection of recordings from the tour titled 86 Revolutions which features songs from their most recent album, Eat the Light, as well music written in the earliest days of the band.

The 2017 Denver People’s Fair has announced the music lineup and programming schedule for its 46th annual event. With musical performances by Guster, Night Riots, and Jeremy Garrett’s Fiddle Science - a supergroup featuring members of Leftover Salmon, The Infamous Stringdusters and Gipsy Moon - as well as over 30 other performances including bands, artists, drag shows, and creative community entertainers, this year’s People’s Fair sets the stage for a massive cultural showcase event that is uniquely Denver.

In the cozy confines of the Crazy Horse Saloon in Nevada City, CA, on April 29, Shakey Zimmerman turned lots of heads with their powerful, compelling takes on venerable Bob Dylan and Neil Young material. Opening the show was the acoustic duo of Shakey’s Pat Nevins along with music newcomer Jennifer Mydland, daughter of Brent Mydland, The Grateful Dead’s longest-tenured keyboardist – and vocalist.

Six Chair Productions has announced the line-up for the 2017 Festival at the Farm, taking place at Prowse Farm in Canton, Mass. on September 16 and 17, 2017.

Opening kick off concert for the Harlem EatUp Festival, a four-day festival offering a sample of Harlem’s sights, flavors and sounds. Details for the fifth annual CRUISE TO THE EDGE excursion -- prog-rock's largest festival at sea hosted by classic rock icons YES -- have been announced. Featuring some of the world's greatest prog-rock musical artists, the 5-night cruise out of Tampa, FL next February 3-8, will return aboard Royal Caribbean's award-winning Brilliance Of The Seas, visiting two new ports: Belize City, Belize and Costa Maya, Mexico.

Atlanta's legendary surrealist musician and icon Col. Bruce Hampton will celebrate his 70th birthday with Hampton 70: A Celebration of Col. Bruce Hampton, on Monday, May 1, 7:30 p.m. at the Fox Theatre, with proceeds benefiting the Fox Theatre Institute and other musician-focused charities. Joined by an all-star lineup of musicians, this once-in-a-lifetime event will feature collaborations by Col. Bruce's friends and admirers as they come together to honor and pay tribute to his music and life.
