Hodi's Half Note

BIG Something is a 6-piece jam band who has been taking the jam scene by storm. Saturday, April 14th, BIG Something took the stage at a Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins, Colorado. The night started off as excited fans strolled into the bar. Not only for Big Something, but big fans of the opening bands as well. I personally never heard of these bands before that night, but I was blown away.

Translators of iconic music as well as innovative original material, Chicago’s Old Shoe, brings a classic live album back to life. With their good pal and very talented singer/songwriter on board, Chicago Farmer will accompany Old Shoe with his soulful renditions of Bob Dylan tunes. Both artists will pay homage to 1989’s Dylan & the Dead, a collaborative live album which was recorded while on a successful stadium tour of the same name in 1987.

After a successful fall tour, Trout Steak Revival was welcomed back home to Colorado at Hodi’s Half Note this October. The Denver Bluegrass Band is planted firmly in the Colorado’s beloved bluegrass scene. In addition to their first album, Trout Steal Revival has won the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition, placed in the 2012 Rockygrass Band Competition, and have won an Emmy Award for a soundtrack with Rocky Mountain PBS.

After listening to my friends rave about Twiddle shows they’ve seen all over the country, whether it was a Phish after party or just a small show at a bar, I decided to drive down to Fort Collins from my home in Boulder, catch the $5 show and see what all the buzz was about. Hodi’s Half Note is a small bar venue in the middle of one of the main streets in Fort Collins.
