New Monsoon

Experience the magic of Bend’s boutique, multi-day, music event, as it emerges in a new, scaled back format. The intimate MINI 4 Peaks is slated August 19-22, 2021 at Southeast Bend’s Stevenson Ranch. This is shaping up to be a throwback to their 2007 installation when the festival was also in August, as they welcome the return of New Monsoon, Hot Buttered Rum, and Blackstrap Bluegrass who all graced the stage that year.

As everyone knows, the entertainment industry is littered with stories of excess and debauchery, and these tales extend from those with superstar status to the grassroots level. From the destruction of hotel rooms to limos outfitted with hot tubs to band members each traveling in their separate tour buses, we have all heard about the resulting effects of the vacuum of stardom. In the wash of these urban legends and anecdotes, it is often the altruistic ventures of our musical heroes that go overlooked, and it is of no surprise as we live in the age of sensationalism and shock journalism.

The 12th incarnation of the Petaluma Music Festival, proceeds of which are allocated to local public school’s music programs, packed a potent punch on August 3. This year’s all-Bay-Area-band fest’s pleasing musical patchwork, which fueled lively dancing, swaying and foot-tapping, was led by prominent rock ‘n’ jam bands ALO, David Nelson Band, The Mother Hips, Hot Buttered Rum, Blame Sally, New Monsoon, and Royal Jelly Live.

This marks the 12th year for what has become one of the most highly regarded festivals on the West Coast. The Petaluma Music Festival will take place on Saturday, August 3rd, 2019, at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds & Event Center in Petaluma.

Backed by a varying procession of Bay Area players, Paige Clem led an epic CD-release party for her outstanding new album, “Firefly,” at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, California, on March 9. Clem, an engaging and talented San Francisco-based songwriter, singer, and guitar player, had plenty of prominent Bay Area musicians on hand to make this a special two-set show.

The 14th annual NedFest - returning August 24-26, 2012 to the Jeff Guercio Memorial Ballfield on the banks of Barker Reservoir in the beautiful high-country town of Nederland, Colorado - is proud to officially announce its daily scheulde along with single-day ticketing and camping information. Additional artists will be added to the scheulde as "tweeners," which will play in between the main acts, at a later date.

The last couple of years New Monsoon have remained relatively quiet in the jam circuit.  They haven't released a studio album since 2007, and they have been touring only sporadically, performing at a number of festivals and mostly West coast shows.  The group has also gone through numerous lineup changes, losing three drummers and a handful of bassists, before finally settling in with the current five members.  But the funny thing is....they have never sounded

Born out of the friendly and wooded confines of a Hornings Hideout gathering in 2005, comes a jamband supergroup of sorts called The Contribution.  The project fronted by Tim Carbone (fiddle/vocals) of Railroad Earth brings together seasoned veterans Jeff Miller (guitar/vocals) and Phil Ferlino (keys) of New Monsoon, as well as Keith Moseley (bass) and Jason Hann (drums) of The String Cheese Incident to form a collaborative effort of tot
