Dark Star Jubilee 2014 | Review & Photos

For the third year in a row I had the honor to attend one of my favorite events all year.  There is nothing else in this world that can put a smile on my face quite like a familiar Grateful Dead tune can. This year at Dark Star Jubilee was just as beautiful as the last three. I couldn’t have picked a better way to spend my Memorial Day weekend.

Rubblebucket New EP Streets Next Week | New Songs Now

The song, found on the Oversaturated EP which hits streets digitally and on 10" vinyl next Tuesday (9/11), boasts feel good lyrics (half nonsensical/half nonfictional), bursts of synths and horns, alongside a whole lot of onomatopoeia courtesy of singer Kalmia Traver!

Wakarusa: 2012 | Day 3 on Mulberry Mountain

Yesterday’s lineup was the best of the festival, in my opinion. Starting with Balkan Beat Box and ending with The Infamous Stringdusters, there was an eclectic mix of amazing artists in between.

Orgone: The Little Known Funk Powerhouse

Although Orgone has not quite reached the mainstream or even become a household name in the jamband or funk scene, it will not be long until these scenarios happen for the powerful band from California. That is why I looked forward to this show since I first saw them on a tiny stage at last year’s Bonnaroo.

Rebelution | House of Blues | Dallas, TX

Kicking off one of the few final stops on the Winter Greens Tour, the first band to start the night off was Los Angeles based Orgone. Quite the eclectic ensemble (from fabulous afros to cowboy hats and boots), Orgone’s rhythm section originally got their start back in the nineties and it wasn’t until 2001 that they brought on Fanny Franklin to lay down the lead vocals.

Bonnaroo 2010 Part II

Saturday, June 12, 2010

The heat resumed, but it felt so much worse after two days of partying and little sleep. I was appreciative of one thing on this sweltering morning wake-up; the showers had short lines for men, and they were only seven dollars. Therefore, although I really wanted to catch Baaba Maal’s set, I felt more rejuvenated going into the press conference with a fresh shower, breakfast, and an iced coffee. I was ready for a new day at my favorite festival.
