It has been a week since Zakir Hussain brought the Masters of Percussion to Colorado, and although the review is already in the bag, there are still a few things left unsaid. As any concert photographer who has been around will tell you, catching candid moments others do not get to see is often more exciting and thrilling than covering the actual event itself.

Twiddle, the upbeat jam rock quartet from Vermont, continued their "Distance Makes the Heart" tour at Webster Hall in New York, NY on April 6, 2023. This bittersweet run has become very special for both the band and their fans after Twiddle announced that they will take an indefinite hiatus upon the conclusion of 2023.

Amidst a fresh snowfall, the rhythmic fires of world renowned Zakir Hussain and The Masters of Percussion burned brightly on Tuesday night at Boulder’s Neo-Gothic styled Macky Auditorium. Celebrating thirty years of the revolving door of players that has defined The Masters of Percussion Tour, anyone who has followed this well-known event knew well before showtime that the experience was something that would be memorable, momentous, and magical.

On March 25, 2023 we went to La Crosse, Wisconsin to see Chicago Farmer and the Fieldnotes at the Main for the final show of the 20th anniversary tour, part one.  Or as I like to refer to it, the first quarter tour, Chicago Farmer plans on celebrating 20 years all through 2023.

Goose returned to The Met Philly on March 25, 2023, after the raging inferno they set off the night prior, and decided to add more fuel to the improvisational fire. They delivered two spirited covers, numerous teases, and of course plenty of extended, raucous jams for the sold out crowd in Philadelphia, PA.

Starting in November of 2012, Phil Lesh played his first show at the Theatre since the Grateful Dead last played at the venue in February 1971.

Sunday night, Ani DiFranco returned to Fort Collins for the first time in a little more than three years on the final Colorado stop of her spring tour.

In March 1973, something like floodgates opening happened for Pink Floyd when their then-brand-new concept album, Dark Side of the Moon, was set loose upon an almost unsuspecting world. Tuned-in fans of the then-still-cult band who had heard the live ‘draft’ version – still known well into mid-1972 as Eclipse: A Piece for Assorted Lunatics – on a hefty clutch of spring dates were breathlessly awaiting it.

The Box of Rain band took the stage Saturday night at the Sherman Theater for an evening celebrating the Grateful Dead catalogue and musical stylings circa ‘68-’74.  Led by Bob Stirner (Living Earth, Boris Garcia) on lead guitar and vocals, the six-piece, and sometimes seven-piece when “Pig Pen” (aka John Bernstein) would join the stage, wound their way through an evening of period specific dead tunes to an elated and receptive crowd.  The band is comprised of member
