The worst of the heat lost its tight grip on the weekend very early Sunday morning.

2011 Harmony Festival: 'A Tribute to the Life of Owsley “Bear” Stanley and the Musical Spirit of Jerry Garcia'

Some forty or so years ago in the Summer of Love, tens of thousands of Northern Californians – and soon after, many more Americans – changed their minds about certain aspects of American life.  They decided that spending their lives in the pursuit of fun and a higher wisdom would be preferable to an existence devoted exclusively to getting, spending, and serving corporations.  They decided that all of this would be best accompanied by music.

Gathering of the Vibes 2010 | Review & Photos

Until I arrived at this year’s Gathering of The Vibes Festival in Bridgeport, CT, I didn’t know I was looking for something. Until I left, I didn’t realize that I had found it. The following is a recounting of that journey. Along the way masters in the field of musical entertainment will appear. All were influential, some more than others. But as you read this recounting of GOTV 2010, remember that this is one man’s quest.

Steve Kimock Upcoming Tour Dates

As the summer heats up, so does the pressure to book your cabin on Jam Cruise 8! The folks of Cloud 9 just reminded us that there are less than 50 cabins left for the adventure in January 2010. Steve Kimock is thrilled to be back on board and we are bringing the Crazy Engine with us this time. Picture this in the winter: a luxury cruise line, tropical locations, music day and night and the famous "Jam Room" where you will surely see Kimock late night leading the pack. Oh and did we mention some of our dear friends are also on board: Dark Star Orchestra, Fantastic Four (Robert Walter), George Porter Jr, and even Zappa plays Zappa and Maceo Parker with many many more!
