Backed by a varying procession of Bay Area players, Paige Clem led an epic CD-release party for her outstanding new album, “Firefly,” at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, California, on March 9. Clem, an engaging and talented San Francisco-based songwriter, singer, and guitar player, had plenty of prominent Bay Area musicians on hand to make this a special two-set show.
Grateful Web recently spoke with Spafford keyboardist Red Johnson between soundcheck and dinner at Terrapin Crossroads on March 4th, 2017 (review). Red offered plenty of Spafford insights and motivations.

This is it, friends — two and a half years in the making (about 5 if you count when I started trying to put together crowdfunding videos). Greetings, Sweet Friends. I hope your year is off to a great start. Getting my record released is first and foremost on my mind these days. In anticipation of the big release event to be announced soon, I've managed to assemble a true dream team of musicians to play my songs. We'll be testing out the waters next Saturday, January 20th, at Terrapin Crossroads in the bar and I can't tell you how honored I am to have this lineup a seasoned all-stars perform my original music.
In their forth outstanding gig at San Rafael’s Terrapin Crossroads this year, The Rock Collection brought an evening of originals, and beloved covers dissimilar to anything fans had seen of them yet. Any act under the jam band umbrella has to keep their shows diverse night to night, but what makes The Rock Collection standalone is the sheer combination of talent and background that allows the music to take off different directions on any given night.
