Don’t miss Kristina Marinova’s piano interpretations of the Grateful Dead on Nov. 9
Sweetwater Music Hall keeps the Bay Area’s spirit alive with a stellar fall lineup that spans everything from Dead-inspired jams and bluegrass pickin’ to reggae, Americana, and pure rock & roll. As one of the West Coast’s most beloved and historic live venues—and a nonprofit committed to making the arts accessible—Sweetwater continues to celebrate music that moves hearts and builds community.
The month kicks off with Essence and Gold Country’s record release party featuring Barry Sless, Jenny Kerr Band, and The Dogweeds, followed by a night with Leslie Mendelson joined by Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Steve Adams, and Alex Koford, bringing that signature Bay Area Americana-meets-psychedelia groove.
Classic jam energy returns full force in late October and November. Pink Talking Fish, the ultimate fusion of Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, and Phish, lights up two nights (Nov. 1–2) in a mind-expanding tribute that unites multiple generations of jam fans. The groove rolls on Nov. 17 with Snakes & Stars, featuring Michael Travis (The String Cheese Incident) and Jay Lane (Dead & Company)—a can’t-miss show for fans of the extended Grateful Dead family.
Other highlights include Scott Law and Friends (Nov. 8) with his West Coast bluegrass brilliance, Nicki Bluhm with Victoria George (Nov. 22) offering soulful country harmonies, and Robbie Fulks (Nov. 13) bringing his fiery songwriting and bluegrass edge to the Sweetwater stage. For Deadheads looking for something special, don’t miss Kristina Marinova’s piano interpretations of the Grateful Dead on Nov. 9—a unique, afternoon celebration of Jerry’s melodies through a classical lens.
Fans can also enjoy Junior Toots (Nov. 7) delivering irie reggae vibes, Soul Ska’s Halloween Costume Ball (Oct. 31) featuring Angelo Moore of Fishbone, and hometown favorites Wonder Bread 5 rocking back-to-back nights over Thanksgiving weekend.
Capping the season, the Sweetwater Anniversary Benefit Gala (Nov. 14) features an intimate evening with Nathaniel Rateliff, raising funds to support Sweetwater’s nonprofit mission—empowering youth and adults through access to music and the arts.
With a lineup that bridges generations, genres, and grooves, Sweetwater Music Hall once again proves why it remains a cultural heartbeat of Marin County and the extended Bay Area jam scene.
