The official music video for the album’s new single, “Human,” directed by Floria Sigismondi, also debuts today. [Watch/share HERE.]

Her eighth studio album and first solo project in four years, Returning To Myself was produced by Carlile alongside Andrew Watt, Aaron Dessner, and Justin Vernon. The album finds Carlile looking inward and reflecting on the journey back to her truest artistic self following years of high-profile collaborations with music legends.

Carlile shares, “Today is the day. My favorite album is yours now… No one really returns to themselves alone. Returning to myself is just returning me to you. And that’s the only thing I want to do.”

Andrew Watt adds, “Brandi Carlile is a once-in-a-generation artist whose pen knows no bounds. Her songwriting, producing, fearless approach, and otherworldly voice continue to amaze me. This is her best collection of songs yet.”

Aaron Dessner reflects, “The most interesting music can happen when you feel lost in the woods, and that’s exactly what happened when Brandi came to Long Pond. I’m so grateful she trusted me to find herself in these songs. Working with her, Phil and Tim Hanseroth, Andrew Watt, and Justin Vernon was an honor.”
