JOE JACKSON ANNOUNCES HOPE AND FURY NEW ALBUM AND 2026 TOUR
Z2 Entertainment Presents Joe Jackson — Hope and Fury Tour 2026 — live at Boulder’s historic Chautauqua Auditorium on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Doors at 6:30 pm; show at 7:30 pm. All Ages.
Tickets go on sale Friday, November 14 at 10:00 am MT via Z2 Entertainment.
Joe Jackson also announces his new studio album, Hope and Fury, arriving worldwide on April 10, 2026. Jackson wryly tags the record: “File under Bicoastal LatinJazzFunkRock.”
“Hello cruel world / I’m not going away / So I might as well have my say,” Jackson sings on the new album. At a moment when many contemporaries have faded, Jackson continues to press forward. Hope and Fury may well be one of his most vital statements yet.
To accompany the release, Jackson and his band will embark on a major North American tour from May to July 2026, followed by an extensive European run from September to December — more than 80 shows across 14 countries. U.S. tickets go on sale November 14, 2025, and will be available through Joe Jackson’s official website.
Chautauqua Auditorium will host the Boulder date, presented by Z2 Entertainment.
About the Album: Hope and Fury
Often labeled a chameleon, Jackson maintains that most of his catalog sits in his “own mainstream” — sophisticated pop songs with adventurous rhythms and instrumentation — while reserving the right to take the occasional stylistic detour to keep things interesting. His most recent sidestep, Mr. Joe Jackson presents Max Champion in ‘What A Racket!’, hilariously channeled a forgotten Edwardian-era Music Hall entertainer.
Hope and Fury returns to that JJ “mainstream” with nine new songs. After initial sessions at Michael Tibes’ Berlin studio, Jackson reconvened in New York’s Reservoir Studios with co-producer Patrick Dillett, reuniting his on-and-off band since 2016 — “bassist for life” Graham Maby, guitarist Teddy Kumpel, and drummer Doug Yowell — augmented by Peruvian percussionist Paulo Stagnaro. The result nods to touchstones like 2019’s Fool, 1991’s Laughter & Lust, and 1982’s Night and Day.
In theme and tone, the album balances contrasts — witty and biting, tender and reflective — while staying largely upbeat. Highlights include the coastal character sketch “Welcome to Burning-By-Sea,” the time-hopping “End of the Pier,” barbed missives “I’m Not Sorry” and “Fabulous People,” the politically bewildered “The Face,” bittersweet reflections “Made God Laugh” and “After All This Time,” and the closing ballad “See You In September.” Dividing his time between New York City and Portsmouth, UK, Jackson describes himself — and the album — as “bicoastal,” geographically and musically.
