“Families, young adults, and older folks danced, laughed and enjoyed the musical acts who hailed from across the country and played folk, dance, funk, country, jazz, pop and more,” shared The Missoulian in their review of last year’s event, which was also dubbed a “Can’t Miss Music Festival of 2025” by Vulture, and “a smashing success” by 94.9 KYSS. “For a first-year fest, it all seemed to run surprisingly smoothly,” wrote The Pulp, “it looked like a well-oiled machine”. The festival was also a significant contributor to the regional economy, generating $9.1m in net new economic activity in Missoula County, over 400k in net tax revenues for state and local government, and creating $3.3m in new labor income for workers throughout the region according to a study by Zenith Economics. Additionally, in 2025 Zootown Music Festival supported the net equivalent of 67 annualized jobs throughout Missoula County.
“Zootown 2025 was an incredible experience that showcased what makes Montana such a uniquely special place. The crowd brought an easy, magnetic energy that turned a first-year festival into something that already felt lived-in. From local Missoulians to weekend travellers, we’re grateful to everyone who showed up and made it theirs. We can’t wait to see everyone back at the Missoula Fairgrounds this summer.” – Scott Osburn (Always On)
