Born in France and raised on the blues, Frenchie Moe is a New Orleans–based guitarist and vocalist whose sound bridges modern Chicago grit with Crescent City R&B fire. Signed to Lightning in a Bottle Records, she has spent more than a decade carving her place in Louisiana’s musical fabric through high-voltage guitar work, soulful vocals, and a deep respect for blues lineage.

Her new album, Hi Class, is a bold and funky statement — recorded live with Moe on all guitars — blending modern electric blues with the rhythmic swagger of New Orleans. The record features both young standouts and seasoned veterans of the local scene, including Luther Kent band members Ward Smith and Bruce Elsensohn, with a high-energy duet featuring Tiffany Pollack of Nola Blue Records. From R&B-driven burners like “I Been Teasin’ You” and the title track “Hi Class,” to raw blues cuts such as “Trailer Park Love” and “The Hunter,” and a loving nod to Allen Toussaint on “Happiness,” the album closes with a vulnerable whisper — the tender ballad “I Want to Ta Ta You Babe.”

A lifelong student of the sound, Frenchie Moe fell in love with the blues at eight years old. She was mentored early by British blues legend Victor Brox, performing in his band by twelve and fronting her own by fifteen. At nineteen she crossed the Atlantic, hustling through odd jobs in the Midwest to break into the American scene, guided and shaped by late guitarist Creighton Holley of the Chicago Rhythm Kings. In 2011 she reached her dream city — New Orleans — where collaborations with Louisiana Music Hall of Famers Coco Robicheaux and Walter Wolfman Washington propelled her deeper into the roots of American soul and blues.

Today, Frenchie Moe is a commanding and heartfelt performer — velvety and dangerous when she wants to be, tender when she chooses. Her shows stretch from smoldering blues standards to horn-driven R&B grooves, always anchored by tone, feel, and fearless guitar play. Whether she’s bending notes like they’re made of smoke or locking into a pocket that makes a room move, Frenchie Moe guarantees the blues stay alive, modern, and seductive.
