“Violet”
Priscilla Sabourin returns with “Violet,” a single inspired by her love for the Boxcar Children series and her deep connection to nature. Released on November 14th, 2025, the track showcases Sab’s signature indie pop style, with her heartfelt vocals, ethereal harmonies, and whimsically energetic instrumentals that evoke sunlight filtering through forest trees, shimmering over the lush green of nature all around you.
The song opens with the line, “How sweet the gentle kiss of morning dew / concrete is yet to touch this ancient view,” clever lyrics immediately placing the listener in the wild, away from society’s rush. Sab’s words invite reflection and awe. Later, the lyrics culminate in, “Welcome to my new apothecary / healing for any souls that have gone wary / feel the sun infuse your skin / soak up all the silence / find their majesty within here among the violence,” celebrating stillness, renewal, and the quiet power of nature and how it can heal.
Musically, the single pairs Sab’s reflective lyrics with sparkling instrumentation and airy vocals, creating a luminous, almost magical sound. Produced by Fran Gleason (drums/percussion) and featuring Drew Stolz (guitar), Simon Hurst (keyboards), Paul Bennett (bass), Trevor McDonald (lap steel), and Clifton Sherwin (additional cymbals), the arrangement highlights Sab’s deep connection to nature, with her voice weaving seamlessly through the shimmering layers of sound. The track was engineered and mixed by Paul Bennett and mastered by Mike Regan.
“Violet” offers another glimpse into Sab’s growing career. A Midwest Region Rat, she has been writing music passionately since 2012 and has shared stages with Callaghan, Grace Pettis, and Iris and the Shade. With her debut full-length album set for May 1, 2026, Sab continues to earn praise for her insightful lyrics and heartfelt performances.
