Aubrie Sellers Releases New Single “Delusional” feat. Ashley Monroe

Aubrie Sellers releases dreamy, psychedelic new single “Delusional” featuring Ashley Monroe

Nashville-based “garage country” artist Aubrie Sellers returns with her dreamy new single “Delusional,” featuring acclaimed singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe, out now via Casual Records | Carnival Records. Listen to the single and watch the visualizer.

Following the gritty pop-rock release “Villain of the Week,” which explored the chaos of modern dating, “Delusional” takes a more psychedelic, slow-burn approach. Sellers and Monroe tap into the beautiful absurdity of falling for someone even when the story isn’t quite real. Ethereal vocals, looping guitars, and a swirling, retro-hazed rock arrangement bring that feeling to life. As Sellers describes it: “It’s that Pisces Venus kind of love—spacey and delusional, almost not wanting to see the truth.”

People Magazine premiered the track earlier today, praising its “ethereal vocals and looping guitars amid a hazy retro soundscape.”

Speaking exclusively to People, Sellers shared, “Ashley and I have been friends for a while, but this is the first and only song we’ve written together. We sat in her writing office, ordered food, and talked about poetry and being idealistic in love. I remember playing ‘Just Me and You’ by the Dreamliners, which got us into that dreamy, vintage, almost spooky headspace. Musically it reminds me of ‘Nights in White Satin’ mixed with The Dreamliners and Ty Segall.”

Ashley Monroe added, “I loved writing with Aubrie. I know we can just be free to say and sing whatever we feel. We dove in and got all weird and goth and angelic, and I’m so proud of what we created. She is one of my very favorite voices to hear sing—and to get to sing with. Who says being delusional has to be a bad thing?”

Sellers, who first broke out with her 2016 debut New City Blues, has toured with Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton and earned critical acclaim from NPR’s Fresh Air, the Americana Awards, ELLE, and The New York Times. Stepping deeper into her darker, slow-burn rock era, she continues to expand her genre-bending identity, merging garage grit, psychedelic textures, and raw emotional honesty.

She is currently performing select dates with fast-rising country singer-songwriter Parker McCollum, with more tour announcements coming soon.
