The music is just the beginning of what a WWG weekend offers. WWG prides itself on being all inclusive and fun for the whole family, which adds to the warm, reunion-like atmosphere. From skiing or riding the legendary Champagne Powder on Steamboat Mountain to catching free pop-up shows at Thunderhead Lodge, or exploring the Kids Zone featuring Town Hall and Steamboat Creates, there’s something for everyone.
WWG is part music festival, part beer festival, and since its inception WWG has featured the best in local brewers and crafters. Taste of WonderGrass complimentary tastings take place every day from 2 – 4 pm in the three large heated music tents: Jamboree, Pickin’ Perch, and The Soap Box. Must be 21+ to sample alcoholic beverages.
One of the most inspiring on-site experiences each year is Camp Coletrain, a two-day immersive music workshop presented in partnership with Coletrain Music Academy. This year, the WWG workshops will be led by Coleman Smith of Yonder Mountain String Band. These professional music workshops take place Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1, before festival gates open at the Steamboat Grand Hotel. Camp Coletrain is open to musicians and aspiring musicians of all levels, welcoming adults, teens, and kids ages 6–12. A one-of-a-kind experience to learn, play, and grow in a supportive, music-filled setting. This experience is free for WinterWonderGrass ticket holders. More info at https://winterwondergrass.com/
