Following the release of Stranger Things’ final episode “The Rightside Up” on New Year’s Eve, Legacy Recordings (the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment) has now made the entirety of Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 5 available across digital platforms. The fourteen song collection features all previously-announced additions from Volume 1 and Volume 2 of Season 5, as well as four new inclusions from last night’s series finale: David Bowie’s “Heroes,” Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper,” Pixies’ “Here Comes Your Man” and Cowboy Junkies’ cover of The Velvet Underground’s “Sweet Jane.”
The complete Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 5 will be available on CD, vinyl and red cassette configurations on Friday, January 30. Colored vinyl formats include standard black, Amazon’s exclusive red smoke, Target’s exclusive blue smoke, Walmart’s exclusive orange marble, and the Sony Music Store’s marble yellow exclusive colored vinyl.

Fans got their first taste of the Season 5 soundtrack with the release of Volume 1 over Thanksgiving weekend, unveiled in conjunction with the first four episodes. Highlights included The Chordettes’ “Mr. Sandman” (which jumped 625% in global streams on Spotify, following its use in Season 5), Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now” (up 490%), and ABBA’s “Fernando” (which rose 335% globally). Volume 2 followed on Friday, December 26, tied to the Christmas Day release of the season’s Chapters 5 through 7. Those episodes brought the inclusion of Butthole Surfers’ 1987 “Human Cannonball” and Floyd Cramer’s “Heart and Soul” to the Season 5 soundtrack.
Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 5 is conceptualized and produced by The Duffer Brothers and Nora Felder. Two-time GRAMMY nominee and Emmy winner Nora Felder has served as music supervisor for Stranger Things since the show’s inception; she won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Supervision for Stranger Things in 2022. The compilation album is produced by The Duffer Brothers and Rob Santos. Created by The Duffer Brothers, “Stranger Things” is produced by Upside Down Pictures & 21 Laps Entertainment with The Duffer Brothers serving as executive producers, alongside Shawn Levy of 21 Laps Entertainment and Dan Cohen.
Legacy Recordings has released soundtrack albums for each season of Stranger Things. Stranger Things: Music from the Netflix Original Series (2017), featuring many 1980s hits from the first two seasons, debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s US Top Soundtracks chart and earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Stranger Things: Music from the Netflix Original Series, Season 3 (2019), followed with fifteen songs alongside an original cast recording. In 2022, Legacy released Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 4, which included Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God),” KISS’ “Detroit Rock City,” a Bryce Miller/Alloy Tracks remix of Journey’s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” and more. The soundtrack held the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top TV Songs chart for three consecutive months and received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media category.
Stranger Things debuted in 2016 and quickly became one of Netflix’s most popular television series ever, with its fourth season alone amassing over 140.7M views globally. Rooted in ‘80s nostalgia, it boosted Kate Bush’s track “Running Up That Hill” into the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in its 38-year history. The series has also garnered over 70 awards worldwide including Emmys® and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and has been nominated for over 230 awards.
