On Saturday, January 17, world-class guitarist and vocalist Sol Roots brings his trio to the intimate concert hall The Listening Booth, located on Delaware’s scenic coast in Lewes.
The Sol Roots Trio delivers an award-winning blend of New Orleans–influenced funk, deep blues, heartfelt soul, and energetic rock. Known for ferocious guitar work and soulful vocals, Sol Roots has spent much of his life touring, recording, producing, and learning directly from roots and blues pioneers including Beverly “Guitar” Watkins, Albert White, Robert Lee Coleman, Cool John Ferguson, Lee Gates, and more.
Throughout his career, Sol Roots and his band have shared the stage with an impressive array of artists, including Jon Cleary, Soulive, Dumpstaphunk, Popa Chubby, Sonny Landreth, Eric Lindell, Roosevelt Collier, Cory Henry, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene, and many others.
The January 17 performance will also feature musicians who have worked with Taj Mahal, Guitar Gabriel, Chuck Berry, Funk Ark, The Nighthawks, and more — a testament to the deep musical lineage and collaborative spirit behind the show.
Guided by a profound respect for his mentors and a passion for universal music traditions, Sol Roots has developed a distinctive and powerful voice, supported by a talented and intuitive band. He is an official Home Grown Music Network artist and a “Next Generation” Music Maker Foundation artist.
