Downtown Nashville is preparing for a full-blown Summer of Dolly, and at the heart of it will be an extended run of Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony, as the innovative multimedia symphonic experience teams up with the Nashville Symphony for a limited seven-week series at Schermerhorn Symphony Center, running June 16 through July 31.
Created and co-produced by Dolly Parton, Schirmer Theatrical, and Sony Music Publishing, Threads: My Songs in Symphony pairs Parton’s songs and stories with original video content, with Dolly herself appearing on-screen to guide audiences through a visual-musical journey. The 90-minute performance (with no intermission) features a cast of guest vocalists and musicians alongside new orchestrations by David Hamilton, celebrating both iconic hits and personal favorites.
The exclusive Nashville summer engagement follows a sold-out world premiere with the Nashville Symphony and builds on a strong run of performances across the country. Threads continues its national momentum with additional stops in eight cities—including Portland, Phoenix, Kansas City, and more—before returning to Nashville for this special multi-week residency.
General on-sale begins Friday, February 6 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Tickets and additional information can be found at https://www.nashvillesymphony.org/. Future performances of Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony can also be found at https://dollysymphony.com/.
In addition to the symphony series, Nashville will host a constellation of Dolly-centered experiences this summer, including the opening of Songteller Hotel & Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum and Parton’s exhibition at the Country Music Hall of Fame, further turning the city into a living tribute to one of music’s most celebrated and influential storytellers.
Threads: My Songs in Symphony includes beloved songs such as “Jolene,” “Coat Of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You,” along with selections spanning Parton’s extraordinary catalog—reimagined for orchestra and brought to life through a blend of live performance and immersive visual storytelling.
