When last heard from, we were telling you about “The Last Farewell Tour,” our intention to retire Feat’s trusty bus and stop touring, although definitely not stop playing. So we better tell you about those shows.
First, as a treat to go along with these dates, we have a beautiful new video of a Feat classic, “Long Distance Love,” re-recorded with Amy Helm during the pandemic. It debuts today at Relix.com, and for your viewing pleasure you can see it Here. This new version of a Little Feat classic will be available on all digital outlets on Thursday, February 5, and you can pre-save it Here.
Reworking “Long Distance Love” was a powerful experience for a band then newly welcoming Scott Sharrard and Tony Leone. Scott commented, “The track is a testament to resiliency in the face of adversity, and a tribute to the band’s legacy, and our incredible musical community of fans and musical collaborators. Amy Helm has been a good friend to us all for many years, and singing this track with her was like a family reunion that really added the special sauce to this reinterpretation.”
Reflecting on the long, fairly strange, and always trippy half-century journey that is Little Feat, it’s fair to ask when someone might finally present a proper film telling that story. That moment has arrived. Director Jesse Lauter (Learning to Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs and Englishmen) has spent the last several years crafting an amazing new film, LITTLE FEAT: THE DOCUMENTARY.
It draws together rare and never-before-seen archival footage and new interviews with Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, Michael McDonald, and members of the Grateful Dead, The Doobie Brothers, and Phish. The film is narrated by Jeff Bridges. Little Feat: The Documentary will have its world premiere at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival on Saturday February 21 at the Wilma Theatre in Missoula, Montana. Tickets are available to the public now Here and you can get more info Here.
