Beyond 1969, featuring guitarist Tom “The Suit” Forst, has released the new video “Comin’ Back To The Blues” on March 1, serving as a preview of the group’s upcoming live in-studio album Back To The Blues, set for release April 25, 2026.
The video captures the same raw, live energy that defines the new record, an all-original ten-song collection rooted in classic rock and blues tradition.
“This video, like the album, is live — we wanted to create a sound that was authentic and dynamic, which only a live presentation can deliver,” explains Forst. “We decided to record the title track of our upcoming album, Back To The Blues. This song is a good example of what can be heard on this rock/blues album — an all-original recording in the spirit of Johnny Winter and Joe Bonamassa, live in the studio.”
Beyond 1969 was formed to celebrate the music of the late-1960s and the spirit of the Woodstock era, revisiting and re-imagining classic songs while also writing and performing original material inspired by that period.
The band’s new album Back To The Blues was recorded at Connecticut’s award-winning Horizon Studios with producer Vic Steffens, capturing the group live in the studio to preserve the feel and spontaneity of their performances.
Tom “The Suit” Forst is a blues-rock guitarist and Hall of Fame recording artist known for his soulful playing and electrifying live performances. A finalist in the King Of The Blues contest and Blues Society awards, Forst has also served as a judge at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. He has been featured in publications including Forbes, Guitar Player, Vintage Guitar, and Elmore Magazine, and has performed with musicians ranging from Better Than Ezra and the Saturday Night Live Band to Roy Buchanan, Jose Feliciano, Joe Cocker, Robert Palmer, and The Dickey Betts Band.
He has shared the stage with legendary acts including Three Dog Night, Styx, and The Marshall Tucker Band, and continues to tour widely, building a strong international following.
