For more than five decades, Bumbershoot Arts & Music Festival has stood as one of the Pacific Northwest’s great cultural gatherings, a place where music, art, food, film, fashion, comedy, and beautifully off-kilter spectacle all collide beneath the Space Needle. Now, Seattle’s legacy festival has revealed its 2026 lineup, and this year’s edition looks every bit like the kind of full-spectrum creative celebration that has kept Bumbershoot woven into the city’s identity for 53 years.
Returning to Seattle Center Labor Day Weekend, September 5-6, 2026, Bumbershoot once again brings together global headliners, genre-defying icons, and emerging voices, all while staying rooted in the Pacific Northwest community that helped define its spirit in the first place. This year’s lineup is led by hometown heroes Death Cab for Cutie, whose return to Seattle carries special resonance, alongside the explosive force of Turnstile, the dreamlike world of Japanese Breakfast, the singular artistry of Blood Orange, masked country trailblazer Orville Peck, and UK electronic powerhouse Chase & Status.
The bill stretches across decades and scenes, from the riotous legacy of Bikini Kill and the enduring impact of De La Soul to the dark pulse of Molchat Doma, the avant-garde vision of Yves Tumor, the playful fire of Joey Valence & Brae, and the transportive songwriting of Silvana Estrada. A particularly special moment arrives with Noname celebrating the 10th anniversary of Telefone, while ATARASHII GAKKO!, Sudan Archives, TOKiMONSTA, Peaches, W.I.T.C.H., and PawPaw Rod add still more color to a lineup built for discovery as much as celebration.
That spirit of discovery remains central to what makes Bumbershoot different. Spread across Seattle Center’s 74-acre campus, the festival continues to embrace its identity as more than a music event, offering a full artistic playground where visual art installations, dance, fashion, culinary programming, film, comedy, and surprise performances unfold throughout the grounds. In typical Bumbershoot fashion, audiences may find themselves moving from a wrestling match to a short film screening, from a skateboard takeover to a puppet show, from an art exhibit to a magician’s disappearing act, all in the span of a single afternoon.
Bumbershoot is also rolling out several fan-focused upgrades for 2026, including three ticket tiers—General Admission, General Admission + Re-Entry, and Deluxe—as well as a new Sip & Stroll open-container experience that allows guests to explore the grounds with beverages beyond the traditional beer garden setup. In keeping with the festival’s community-first ethos, children 12 and under will once again be admitted free with a ticketed adult.
Tickets for Bumbershoot 2026 are on sale now at bumbershoot.com, with additional programming announcements still to come. If this first reveal is any indication, Seattle is in for another Labor Day weekend where legacy, experimentation, and a whole lot of wonderfully weird energy share the same stage.
