Italian psych-gaze collective Black Reverie unveils its debut single, “When the Reverb Ends”, featuring The Stargazer Lilies, now available across all digital platforms.

“When the Reverb Ends” introduces the immersive sonic world of Black Reverie, the new project led by Sebastian Lugli (Rev Rev Rev). The collective blends dense fuzz-driven textures with shimmering waves of reverb, creating a hypnotic fusion of psychedelic rock and shoegaze. The project brings together members of Desert Ships and We Melt Chocolate, with additional contributions from The Stargazer Lilies.
Mixed by Be Hussey (Swervedriver, Alcest, Kim Deal), the track emerges as a sonic act of alchemy—suspended somewhere between noise and dream, where distortion meets melody in a swirling, cinematic haze.
Born from the question, “what remains after the reverb ends?”, the song draws inspiration from the independent cinema of Michael Wild. Lugli explains:
“Watching ‘Thrashers’, I felt a sensation that words can't quite explain, but that I tried to give shape to through this music and these lyrics. I laid the foundations with a very sixties bassline and a similarly vintage harmony, then added my guitar sounds on top. The magic thing is that what made this feeling complete were the contributions of Kim and John from The Stargazer Lilies: when I heard their parts, I got goosebumps. They seemed to give voice to my dreams. That's the magic of collaborating with artists like them.”

Conceived by Sebastian Lugli, founding member of Italian shoegaze-psych band Rev Rev Rev, Black Reverie is a psychedelic collective that fuses the darkness of fuzz with the kaleidoscope of reverb. Their sound blends dark emotional undercurrents with ethereal melodies, uniting musicians from Desert Ships and We Melt Chocolate alongside collaborators from The Stargazer Lilies. The result is a hypnotic ritual of sound—an ever-shifting space suspended between noise and dream.
