Nashville, TN - April 10, 2026 - Songwriter, singer, and award-winning mandolinist Sierra Hull is pleased to release a crisp studio recording of her bluegrass concerto simply dubbed The Movements, which features her world-class band: Avery Merritt, Erik Coveney, Mark Raudabaugh, and Shaun Richardson.
In 2023, FreshGrass Institute commissioned her to write a “bluegrass concerto” ahead of their event. She penned a three-movement piece that combines through-composed ideas and arranged parts, while also leaving room for improvisational magic, a key ingredient in any bluegrass instrumental. With these compositions, Hull joined contemporaries like Béla Fleck, Rhiannon Giddens, Sarah Jarosz, and Kronos Quartet in being immortalized in the FreshGrass commissions canon.

Sierra Hull is currently on her spring headlining tour before heading to Europe with Brad Paisley in June. This year Hull will return to the Outlaw Music Festival tour with Willie Nelson, The Avett Brothers, and more; support Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge Amphitheatre; play at Billy Strings’s inaugural Ionia Freak Fair; and appear at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival.
