2ŁØT Tap Funky Knuckles Players for Atmospheric New Single “Tread”

Today, 2ŁØT releases “Tread,” the latest single from their forthcoming album RE/SOLVE, arriving July 31st. Following the introspective lead single “Favorite Star” and the emotionally charged “Come Together,” the new track reveals another dimension of the band’s evolving sound - one that invites listeners to settle in, lean closer, and experience the music on a more instinctive level.

Built on a rolling groove and fluid, jazz-leaning instrumentation, “Tread” moves with quiet confidence. Featuring Ben Bohorquez (Funky Knuckles) on flute and Evan Weiss (Funky Knuckles, Polyphonic Spree) on trumpet, the track unfolds through subtle interplay and tonal color, trading overt structure for feel. It’s a head-nodder at its core, but one that rewards attention - drawing the listener into its pulse rather than demanding it.

There’s a sense of restraint at the heart of “Tread,” allowing space to carry as much weight as sound. The result is a track that feels immersive and intentional, capturing the band’s ability to create momentum without excess and to hold tension without forcing resolution.

“Tread” continues the arc of RE/SOLVE, 2ŁØT’s second album and a more inward-facing follow-up to their debut Entropy. Where Entropy confronted chaos head-on, RE/SOLVE shifts the lens toward identity, transition, and the quieter work that follows survival. The album unfolds as what the band describes as a “Second Hero’s Journey” – a progression that moves through uncertainty, reflection, and renewal.

“The aim is to mythologize the cyclical process of self-reflection, transformation, and self-actualization through a Campbellian archetypal lens,” shares vocalist Rudy Love Jr. “The songs are specifically written and ordered to tell a story that takes the listener on this adventure with us.”

Together with “Favorite Star” and “Come Together,” “Tread” helps sketch the emotional and sonic landscape of RE/SOLVE - a body of work that feels more cohesive, patient, and grounded in its perspective.

The release arrives as 2ŁØT continues to build momentum both on record and on stage. Over the past year, the band has expanded its reach through collaborations with artists like Aloe Blacc, Steve Aoki, Paul Oakenfold, and Albert Harvey, while multiple releases have landed on the dance charts. Their live show - blending improvisation with cinematic visuals - has taken them to stages including Treefort Music Fest and venues like The Peppermint Club in Los Angeles, further establishing their reputation as a band that bridges genres and environments with ease.

With RE/SOLVE, 2ŁØT returns to a focused album statement - one that builds on their Electronic Jam Music foundation while moving into more nuanced, immersive territory.

The band will continue previewing this next chapter with select live performances throughout the spring and summer, including upcoming festival appearances and tour dates across the country.
