Chicago’s festival calendar gets a fresh jolt this spring as the inaugural Warm Love Cool Dreams Music and Arts Festival arrives at The Salt Shed on May 23 and 24, 2026.
Presented by sister venue Empty Bottle, the two-day event blends indie legends, adventurous modern artists, hometown favorites, and underground standouts into one of the more intriguing lineups of the season.
Leading the bill are Australian indie royalty Courtney Barnett, genre-bending innovator Toro y Moi, and legendary Scottish post-punk trailblazers The Jesus and Mary Chain.
The lineup also features Chicago staples Tortoise, Whitney, and Pixel Grip, along with rising and boundary-pushing acts including Nourished By Time, Smerz, YHWH Nailgun, Kumo 99, Mark William Lewis, Moin, Being Dead, Lauren Auder, and Tobacco City.
With The Salt Shed continuing to establish itself as one of the Midwest’s premier live music destinations, Warm Love Cool Dreams looks poised to become a standout Memorial Day weekend gathering for fans seeking something a little deeper than the usual festival formula.
The partnership with Empty Bottle adds another layer of credibility. Long known as one of Chicago’s most respected independent venues, Empty Bottle has spent decades helping launch artists and support adventurous programming across genres.
Beyond the music, Warm Love Cool Dreams promises an arts-forward atmosphere designed to reflect Chicago’s creative spirit, making it more than just a concert weekend.
