Miami, Florida — Soulful reggae fusion band Chili Guys are set to release their new single, “Power of the Sun,” a sonic manifesto and almost meditative track channeling the transformative energy of the sun. The new single is due out June 21, 2026.
Chili Guys have built a grassroots following in Miami with their laid-back charm, genre-blending sound, and performances that feel equal parts jam session and beach party. Their feel-good music and positive message have helped shape a distinctive, infectious sound that resonates with audiences of all ages. The band is composed of Michael Anthony Halley (Mikigai), Alejandro Gabriel Gonzalez (Dr. Cheech), Andy Gonzalez (AG LYonz), Michael Richard Vanasek (Vazen), and Frank Alejandro Vasallo (Frank Kenobi).
“Power of the Sun” unfolds through layered instrumentation, from brass sounds to airy electric guitars and a steady drumbeat. Arriving in alignment with the summer solstice, it lyrically carries a message of moving through change with clarity and ease, echoed in an uplifting refrain that runs through the track: “Feel the power of the sun… Walking on sunshine… Don’t waste your life, spread your light, take your time, be alright.”
The new single announcement comes on the heels of the superbly entertaining music video release for “Listening to Reggae,” off their recently released LP, Chili Island.
The music video stars actor Victor Aldrich navigating a hilariously disastrous day, set against the song’s upbeat, skank-driven energy. With “Listening to Reggae,” Chili Guys pay homage to the global reggae phenomenon, which brought the band together, most notably Bob Marley and the Wailers.
Chili Guys comment, “Reggae brings the world together. There’s something about this one that feels bigger than us; it taps into a rhythm and energy that people all over the world can feel.”
The music video was produced by Leeza Jarrar, along with creative director Gabe Sanchez and DP Lukas Suski.
