Jobi Riccio made her debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show with a performance of “Wildfire Season,” the acclaimed protest anthem from her new album Face The Feeling, out now via Yep Roc Records.
Written after devastating wildfires swept through Colorado in 2020, “Wildfire Season” confronts the grief, anger, and urgency of the climate crisis head-on. Raised in Morrison, Colorado, Riccio grew up hiking in the Rockies, where increasingly destructive wildfire seasons became a defining reality of her generation. Built around searing guitars and a defiant chorus, the song has become a centerpiece of her live show and a rallying cry for those navigating an increasingly unstable world.
The track has earned widespread acclaim, with Ann Powers calling it “protest music at its finest” in NPR Music’s “Best Songs of 2025” list, while Natalie Weiner wrote: “Riccio sums up our moment's crises with startling urgency and clarity… We need more songs like this in 2026.” David Cantwell named it “a raging anticapitalist punk rock anthem.”

On Face The Feeling, Jobi Riccio expands beyond the folk and country foundations of her breakthrough debut Whiplash — which earned her an Americana Honors & Awards nomination for Emerging Artist of the Year and the John Prine Songwriting Fellowship Award — embracing a more expansive sound that folds grunge, indie rock, alt-folk, and country-rock into her incisive songwriting. The album was recently spotlighted atop NPR Music’s New Music Friday with praise for Riccio’s “gorgeous, range-y, expressive, contemplative voice” and her “clear songwriting perspective.” No Depression added, “the strength of the songs show she’s taking a hard look and reporting back with an honesty that’s both astonishing and appealing.”
