Rhythms On The River Brings Inaugural One-Day Music Festival to Buena Vista

Rhythms On The River, an inaugural one-day music festival created by Coleman Smith, fiddle player for Yonder Mountain String Band, takes place Thursday, July 16, 2026 at The Beach in Buena Vista, Colorado.

The festival closes out Smith’s annual music camp, Camp Coletrain, an immersive week-long music camp and retreat he founded nearly a decade ago. The camp draws students of all ages and skill levels from across the country, and Rhythms On The River brings the instructors to the stage at The Beach on the Arkansas River.

This year’s lineup is headlined by Northern California’s Crying Uncle, who will also serve as instructors at Camp Coletrain.

The full lineup includes Crying Uncle, David Lawrence & The Spoonful, Morningside, The Ark Valley String Ensemble, Roma Ransom, CMA Students and more. Coleman Smith of Yonder Mountain String Band will appear as Artist at Large.

The Beach is one of Colorado’s most stunning outdoor venues, accessible by boat, bike, or car on the banks of the Arkansas River.
