Nashville’s musical identity extends far beyond country music, and Tyler y Zoro is a celebration of multiple generations of the city’s rich creative diversity and collaborative spirit.
Tyler y Zoro is a new instrumental project from Nashville guitarist, producer, and songwriter Tyler Cain and legendary drummer Zoro, whose iconic career includes performances and recordings with artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Bobby Brown, Frankie Valli, and New Edition. Cain has contributed as a guitarist, producer, songwriter, and musician on four Grammy-nominated projects, working with artists including Shaboozey, Darius Rucker, Colbie Caillat, Big & Rich, Billy Currington, and Meghan Linsey in addition to his solo career.
Rooted in soul, surf guitar, blues, Americana, Latin rhythms, and groove-driven musicianship, Tyler y Zoro brings together multiple generations of artists connected through Nashville’s vibrant music community. The project highlights a side of Music City that often goes unnoticed, one where musical influences from around the world intersect and thrive.
The debut single, “Catch This Vibe,” featuring Grammy-nominated artist G. Love, released June 24. The track blends laid-back grooves, vintage tones, and feel-good energy, setting the tone for the project’s genre-defying sound.
The second single, “Flamingo,” arriving July 10, features Eddie Perez of the acclaimed group The Mavericks and showcases the project’s strong Hispanic and Latin influences. Inspired by the musical traditions that have shaped generations of artists across the Americas, the song blends Spanish-flavored guitar textures, soulful melodies, and rhythmic grooves into a cinematic instrumental journey that reflects Nashville’s increasingly global musical landscape.
The full Tyler y Zoro EP releases August 7, bringing together an all-star cast of musicians and celebrating the idea that great music transcends genres, generations, and backgrounds. At its core, Tyler y Zoro is a reminder that Nashville is more than country music; it’s a creative crossroads where artists from every tradition come together to create something new.
“G. Love is one of the artists who made me pick up a harmonica and fall in love with groove-driven music. To have him become part of our debut single feels surreal. ‘Catch This Vibe’ is all about joy, friendship, and the kind of multi-generational music that brings people together without needing a single lyric.” — Tyler Cain
