Singer/songwriter/guitarist Michael Falzarano has been a working musician for over 60 years, most notably in Hot Tuna, the famed offspring of The Jefferson Airplane, The New Riders of the Purple Sage and his current work with The Englishtown Project, The Airplane Family, and Falz & Friends. Falzarano has toured throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, and Japan. He has also been an inductee of the NY Blues Hall of Fame for over a decade.
On Sunrise Over The Unknown, Falzarano penned 12 upbeat, heartfelt, inspirational songs with one (“Cupful Of Rain”) that he co-wrote with famed Grateful Dead lyricist, the late Robert Hunter. During an unexpected illness and conversations with friends in 12 step programs inspiring the songs “Mighty Mississippi,” “Take Back What’s Mine” and “One Brick At A Time,” Falzarano explored the universal theme of recovery – be it from substance abuse, physical or emotional upheaval, or grief (“Cupful Of Rain,” “Bird With A Broken Wing” and “I Had A Dream Last Night”) as well as the journey back (“There’s A Rainbow,” “Coins In the Fountain,” “7 Year Itch,” “Get Up Get In The Dance,” “Everything Changes In The Universe” and “Without A Net”). The result is this collection of Roots Rock/Americana songs that provide support, hope and healing with a rock-solid beat!
