With the tiger lilies in bloom, daily sunny temperatures above 80 degrees, and the Dance Tent up and alive, the time has arrived for the 34th Annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance to return to Trumansburg, New York, July 16-19.
With the approaching festival comes the rise in ticket prices from Advance to Gate, so now is the time to purchase 4-Day or Single Day passes, or sign up to volunteer in order to save big now and dance carefree later.
Powered by hundreds of volunteers, GrassRoots is truly people powered, and volunteering is one of the best ways to fully immerse yourself into the GrassRoots experience. In exchange for time before, during, or after the festival, volunteers receive festival passes, laughs, love, and good times bringing that GrassRoots magic to life. Only a handful of shifts remain, so volunteers are encouraged to sign up today.
Hosted by festival founders and Americana stalwarts Donna The Buffalo, the 34th Annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival will also feature live performances by Grammy Award-winning folk musician, MacArthur recipient, and Pulitzer Prize winner Rhiannon Giddens; Grammy Award-winning Delta blues and roots music icon Taj Mahal; Grammy Award-winning bluegrass legend Del McCoury Band; Latin Grammy Award-winning Venezuelan folklorica cuatro masters C4 Trio; Yemeni punk-folk rockers El Khat; Senegalese master sabar percussionist and griot lineage holder Aba Diop Trio; the returns of Ukrainian folk quartet Dakhabrakha, American roots reggae founders John Brown’s Body, and Ireland’s electrifying family band The Byrne Brothers; Louisiana Zydeco boss Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band; his father and Zydeco legend Preston Frank; and over 80 other artists.
GrassRoots Festival attendees can also kick off the experience in the four days leading up to the festival at the 8th Annual GrassRoots Culture Camp, taking place July 12-15. A life-changing experience, Culture Camp provides attendees with an intimate cultural immersion experience learning from some of their favorite GrassRoots Festival artists and so much more, with each day culminating with a shared Dinner & Dance in the four days leading up to GrassRoots.
Fans are encouraged to get familiar with this year's schedule, sign up to volunteer, and purchase GrassRoots and Culture Camp tickets now to save big and dance carefree in July.
