Clay Street Unit Announces First Live Album Live From The Road, Vol. 1

Colorado roots sextet Clay Street Unit is set to release their first live album, Live From The Road, Vol. 1, on August 21 via Leo33. The spirited set comes on the heels of the band’s critically acclaimed debut album, Sin & Squalor, which was released this past February. The group has announced their first-ever headlining West Coast tour, set to begin in the fall. Following a triumphant stop at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the band will make their second appearance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre this Friday, July 17. See full list of dates below.

The album contains seven originals and three covers, including a soulful version of The Band’s “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” and an energetic, reimagined rendition of MGMT’s “Kids,” which is out today on all DSPs. Listen to “Kids” HERE.

Live From The Road, Vol. 1 captures Clay Street Unit’s scorching live performances from their spring tour. Following the recording of Sin & Squalor, Clay Street Unit co-founder and banjo player Jack Cline had an amicable departure from the band to focus on his family. Enter fiddle wizard and backing vocalist Dan Andree, who helped inject a fresh energy into the group, as documented on the new set. Andree joins Sam Walker on lead vocals/guitar, Scottie Bolin on mandolin/vocals, Brad Larrison on pedal steel, Brendan Lamb on drums, and Jack Kotarba on bass.

Produced by Chris Pandolfi of the Grammy-winning group The Infamous Stringdusters, Sin & Squalor received high praise from the press upon release. Features and reviews ran in outlets that included Rolling Stone, Relix, No Depression, People.com, The Bluegrass Situation, Saving Country Music, and many more. Clay Street Unit made their debut at Grand Ole Opry the day after the album release. The album spent over 16 weeks in the Americana Radio Top 20 albums and remains in the Top 25. Lead single “Drive” peaked at #4 on the Americana singles chart.

Live From The Road, Vol. 1 is the sound of Clay Street Unit firing on all cylinders with a future that looks very bright.
