Tedeschi Trucks Band has canceled its upcoming performances at FloydFest and the Newport Folk Festival as Susan Tedeschi prepares to undergo surgery to have her appendix removed.
Tedeschi shared the news with fans after experiencing what she described as an “appendix scare.” Although she assured everyone that she expects to be fine, doctors advised her that the appendix needs to be removed.
The cancellations affect the band’s scheduled appearance at FloydFest in Virginia on Friday, July 24, and its performance at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island on Sunday, July 26.
In announcing the news, Tedeschi said:
“Hey everyone — here with some unfortunate news. I had an appendix scare, and I’ve been told I need surgery to have it removed.”
Tedeschi emphasized that the situation is not considered serious and expressed confidence that she will recover.
The band is currently scheduled to return to the road on July 31 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, for the first of two performances at the venue. ([Instagram][3])
