BALTHVS Share New Single “Motion (For Ashra)” Ahead of Manifest

Psychedelic funk trio BALTHVS have shared their mesmerizing new single, “Motion (For Ashra),” available everywhere now. The track—which interpolates “Oasis” from legendary Kosmische Musik guitarist Manuel Göttsching’s groundbreaking Ashra project—heralds the band’s much-anticipated sixth studio album, Manifest, arriving via Mixto Records on October 7. Pre-orders and pre-saves are available now.

“Being great fans of Ash Ra Tempel, the band decided to rework Manuel Göttsching’s cosmic tune ‘Oasis’ into something else, while preserving the wonderful melodies of the late German composer,” says BALTHVS.

BALTHVS’ most refined recorded musical statement thus far, Manifest also includes immersive new tracks such as “Eternal Flow” and “Liminal Stages,” both available everywhere now, alongside expansive session performance videos that expertly showcase the band’s visionary sonic approach, streaming now on YouTube.

In addition, “Eternal Flow” and “Liminal Stages” are featured in a special four-track preview offering an advance passage into the album’s spellbinding universe of cosmic grooves, drum & bass, and Ethio-jazz threads.

Hailed by Relix for “advancing an omnivorous neo-psychedelia, weaving in new fixations with each release,” BALTHVS are introducing fans to the world of Manifest with an ongoing international live run. U.S. dates begin October 8 at the Moonshiner’s Ball in Livingston, Kentucky, and continue through the month. Additional dates will be announced.

With more than 120 million worldwide streams to date, BALTHVS have proven themselves through a relentless commitment to creativity and a genre-fluid sound that swirls psychedelia, funk, surf, disco, cumbia, Middle Eastern melody, and spiritual-jazz improvisation into something near-mystical and unmistakably their own.

Founded in 2019 by self-taught guitarist Balthazar Aguiree, the band—which also includes bassist Johanna Mercuriana and drummer Santiago Lizcano—maintains a clear vision across an ever-evolving body of work that spans six full-length albums, multiple single releases, and countless performances, blurring boundaries while staying rooted in live instrumentation and spontaneous energy.

Beyond the studio, BALTHVS remain committed to their psychedelic forebears’ improvisational spirit and deep respect for the audience, assuring performances that are intimate, engaging, and never twice the same by creating a new setlist for every show.

The trio have brought their unique musical alchemy to stages in 94 cities across 26 countries and four continents, including dates with avowed fans My Morning Jacket and sets at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Outside Lands, Electric Forest, Jam Cruise 22, and more. They have also appeared on KEXP, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Café, and BBC Radio.

With Manifest, BALTHVS push the limits of their adventurous approach further than ever before, marking the next chapter in a continuing journey toward musical transmutation and creative transcendence.
