The Wilder Blue will release their fifth album, Cinco, on August 28 and have shared the new single “Chasin’ The Sun” ahead of its arrival.
Independent Texas-based band The Wilder Blue will release their anticipated new album, Cinco, on August 28. Ahead of the release, the band has unveiled a new song from the project, “Chasin’ The Sun,” available now.
Produced by Lyndon Hughes and The Wilder Blue and recorded at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, Cinco is the band’s fifth album and its most fully realized project to date, showcasing adventurous musicianship, deeply human storytelling, and signature five-part harmonies.
The new 10-track album finds The Wilder Blue exploring new creative territory, incorporating outside musicians and songwriters for the first time while embracing a renewed sense of freedom and exploration.
“We set out to make an album that pairs well with campfire coffee kettles, dusty neon band signs, and sun-bleached dashboard Polaroids,” lead singer Zane Williams shares. “We figured it out together, as friends, the five of us. It was exhausting and exhilarating. Our memories, now your music. We hope you enjoy Cinco.”
Earlier this summer, the band unveiled the album track “Texas Women,” featuring Tracy Byrd. Whiskey Riff declared, “These guys are an absolute force and boast some of the strongest harmonies in all of music,” while Country Central said the song “embraces the deepest lyrical and stylistic traditions in the genre.”
Engaging live performers, The Wilder Blue have toured alongside artists such as Luke Combs, Hank Williams Jr., Midland, Flatland Cavalry, and Charles Wesley Godwin. The band will remain on the road through the fall, with upcoming headline shows at Meanwhile Brewing in Austin, The Heights Theater in Houston, Garcia’s in Chicago, and High Noon Saloon in Madison, as well as West Coast dates with Paul Cauthen.
Since their 2020 debut, The Wilder Blue have established themselves as “one of the most versatile bands in country music,” according to Whiskey Riff. Known for their engaging five-part harmonies and captivating songwriting, the group has released four studio albums to date, including 2025’s Still in the Runnin’.
Self-released, self-produced, and fan-funded, the album debuted to critical attention, with All Country News praising it as “a dynamic listening experience,” with “each track feeling like a mini movie, with its own story, instrumentation, and sonic landscape.”
Country Central declared, “They create a rich, organic sound,” adding that the album “stays true to Wilder Blue’s funky, bluegrass-inspired country.”
The band also joined forces with Luke Combs for a cover of the Eagles’ “Seven Bridges Road,” which has garnered more than eight million streams across platforms.
The Wilder Blue consists of Zane Williams on lead vocals, Paul Eason on lead guitar, Lyndon Hughes on drums, Sean Rodriguez on bass, and Andy Rogers on multiple instruments.
