The 2026 Blues & Bayou Festival will bring the Sol Roots Trio to The Sedalia Center in Bedford County, Virginia, for an evening of New Orleans-inspired funk, deep blues, soul, food, and community fundraising.
Local acoustic group Root 2 Music will open the event with its blend of folk and country blues. The annual SedaliaFEAST concert and dinner serves as a fundraiser for The Sedalia Center and its mission to strengthen arts and entertainment programming throughout the region.
The Sol Roots band delivers an award-winning mix of New Orleans-influenced funk, deep blues and soul, upbeat jazz, energetic rock, and hypnotic rhythms. Known for his commanding guitar work and soulful vocals, Sol has toured internationally with musical legends and lesser-known pioneers of blues and funk.
The trio’s special Blues & Bayou Festival lineup will feature musicians who have worked with artists including Taj Mahal, Beverly “Guitar” Watkins, Keller Williams, Bob Weir, Victor Wooten, Jeff Sipe, and Isaac Hadden.
The Sol Roots band has also shared stages with Jon Cleary, Cory Henry, Soulive, The Wood Brothers, Sonny Landreth, Roosevelt Collier, Eric Lindell, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene, and many others.
Rooted in a deep respect for his musical influences and a love of music without boundaries, Sol brings a distinctive voice to the stage with the support of a skilled group of musicians.
The Sol Roots band is an official Home Grown Music Network artist and a Music Maker Foundation “Next Generation” artist.
Each year, SedaliaFEAST brings the community together for an evening of food, live music, and philanthropy. This year’s Blues & Bayou theme celebrates blues, roots music, and Bayou rhythms while raising essential funds for The Sedalia Center.
Proceeds will support Sedalia’s growing arts programming, including its free Living Arts after-school program for children and an expanding schedule of creative classes and workshops for teens and adults.
The evening will begin with drinks and a silent auction featuring items donated by Virginia businesses and supporters of The Sedalia Center.
Dinner will include slow-simmered Bayou jambalaya, Louisiana rice, fire-grilled corn on the cob with herb butter, and fresh garden salad.
Following dinner, Sol Roots and Root 2 Music will lead an evening of New Orleans-influenced funk, blues, rock, folk, and country blues. Guests can also enjoy handcrafted drinks, door prizes, and the silent auction in one of Bedford County’s most scenic settings.
Every ticket purchased helps sustain The Sedalia Center’s arts and educational programs.
