Today, Gibson, Devon Allman and Duane Betts announce the tenth year of the Allman Betts Family Revival Tour. Affectionately titled “A Decade of Revival” after the Allman Brothers Band album A Decade of Hits 1969–1979, the tour will kick off November 28th in St. Louis, MO and find the legendary sons of ABB founding members Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts leading an all-star lineup of guests across the country for 20 dates.
“I can’t believe it’s been 10 years of our beautiful gathering of friends to celebrate our dads’ songbook. Being the faithful custodians to this historic body of work is not lost on Duane and I. It is our high honor. We couldn’t possibly hold it any closer to our hearts. We can’t wait to evoke the spirits and celebrate 10 years. Be with us,” said Devon Allman.
“10 years strong! It’s a gift playing this timeless songbook with so many of our beautiful, talented friends. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have the Revival continue into year 10. See y’all on the road!” added Duane Betts.
Guests for the forthcoming tour will include the Allman Betts Band alongside Robert Randolph, Sierra Hull, Judith Hill, Andy Frasco, Luther Dickinson, Jimmy Hall, Steel Beans, Larry McCray, Cody Dickinson, Alex Orbison, Abby Stahlschmidt (specific date line-ups detailed below).
The forthcoming tour will feature two sets per show, with the first to honor the original lineup and focus on songs from the 1970s, while the second set will recapture the electricity of the 1990s era by focusing on songs from the Allman Brothers' renaissance.
Based on the celebratory ensemble cast approach of The Last Waltz, the tour will bring together a revolving cast of artists from the realms of blues, Americana, country, and rock, all joining forces for a night of soulful performances.
What started as a 70th birthday celebration for Gregg Allman in 2017 has evolved into an annual celebration of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s finest catalogs. Galvanizing the families of Allman & Betts: The Allman Betts Family Revival has become a yearly tradition featuring some of the finest musicians on the planet. Devon and Duane honor their families' legacies, evoking the haunting spirit of the greats that came before them by gathering a world class ensemble.
Past tours have included the special guests like Amanda Shires, Robert Randolph, Slash, Jason Isbell, Steve Earle, Sierra Ferrell, and Marcus King. This year we celebrate a DECADE of The Allman Betts Family Revival.
