Brooklyn-based roots band The Oystermen have released their second album, Darn Tootin, marking the group’s first full-band record.
Built around the band’s distinctive trumpet-and-guitar sound, Darn Tootin features a mix of nine original songs and five traditional songs and standards that The Oystermen have been playing around New York City for the past few years. The band has performed at venues including Skinny Dennis, Jalopy Theater, Arlene’s Grocery, Pianos and more.
The new record is intended to capture the ideal version of the band’s live set, while expanding the arrangements with additional instrumentation including piano, electric guitar and mandolin.
The Oystermen have also released a music video for “R Train Blues,” the second song from the album.
Darn Tootin is available now on major streaming platforms.
